    Yep, it's some sort of rare client-side bug.
    I've talked to a player on PvP that was seeing War messages while in he was in his PvP base...

    How weird. Thisis perculiar. I wouldn't honestly think it was some sort of hacker. I think i agree with @18kss because it sounds more likely it is a bug.

    Yeah - so in 1.8 Mojang changed the way connections work so you can technically be on two servers at once. A side effect of this is that you can also log into servers with the same account twice, and have two copies of it on. @rsszi was on about 6 servers at once with this. It's a Mojang bug.
