Recently HG has been dealing with bugged terrain generation causing vast oceans to spawn when they should not... And I actually like it, however it shouldn't be arena wide.

Battling in water requires different tactics than doing so on land. It also gives kits like blink, phantom and poseidon a chance to shine. This variation in strategy is something I'm enjoying.
However the oceans covering the whole arena is pretty awful. So I suggest that instead of removing bodies of water we allow large lakes to spawn. Spawning in water also isn't a huge problem as long as there's land next to it. Having feast spawn over water has lead to some interesting fights.

    That's all.

It's a bug, this is not the only thread that has complained about this issue, (I can see you're sum what taking advantage of the situation) it is indeed a bug and I honestly have no idea, but should be fixed soon!

    Read it all.
I'm saying we should add large bodies of water to a certain extent, like lakes.

I agree, it is really awesome and opens a whole new side of HG, and it is a fun side!

How large? I don't mind occasional small rivers but that could be a problem when digging down to someone, or when the feast spawns

Feasts spawning in water isn't bad, it just requires a change of tactics. Like using a water bucket / making a staircase, bridging or using your kit.

A good size for a lake for actual water interaction and not just someannoying obstacle would be 100x100 blocks max I recon.

I wouldn't mind having large bodies of water, like large lakes like you said. Makes kits like Poseidon very useful as they can hang out at the bottom of lakes without any real worry. I'd think it open up room for more strategy and would make the game more interesting.

Or you could do listeners to check if the terrain around the player is water, then teleport the players to a new set of coords. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know but then, the weird all water to lava glitch was happening. I'm not sure if this was true, but someone said it was going to come out soon but the oceans came out!

Thermo has a cap to how much water you can transform in one body (I learned that the hard way), so you couldn't just transform a whole lake into lava in an instant. From what I heard someone exploited a bug with how cobble stone transforms along with the water/lava (either disappearing or reappearing), and it caused major server lag.
