Hardcore Games Concept: Combining Soup and Nosoup

    Concept: Give players the choice of choosing whether they prefer to play with soup or without soup but in the same server.

    Soup Choice: Works the same as normal Soup HG. Players can craft soup and it will instantly heal them 3.5 hearts per soup.

    No Soup Choice: Default choice. Gives players 3-5 (can be discussed) rows of hearts. Possible regeneration of 1 heart as opposed to the normal 1/2.

    I think this would help solve some of the current problems HG has, such as not being too new player friendly. Meaning new players wouldn't get stomped by the veteran soup-hg players, at least not as easily. Obviously kits would need lots of workings to make this a valid change, but I thought I'd just throw the idea out there for discussion.

    The only problem I see with this is that any experienced soup pvp'er will easily be able to out sustain 3-5 rows of hearts with soup.

    So basically a no soup buff to make it more new player friendly? I like it since I'm a big Hg noob myself, but idk if it'll work because like I said before I'm an Hg noob :wink:

    This wont work well at all.

    Players with Soup have to worry about encountering players early with 30+ hearts. If you do have Soup you still have to have at least more than 30+ hearts to outlast a player. And if you DO have more than 30+ hearts and if you do its not even a challenge to keep up.

    If new players are ever going to learn to soup, they're gonna have to be forced to soup whenever they play HG. It worked when HG was new.

    Bad idea. Here's why:

    Let's say there's 5 rows of hearts. That's 50 hearts. And someone who is a veteran souper has 1 whole inven of soup. That's about 30 soup = 105 hearts + original 10 = 115 hearts. And since the no souper is a noob, he will definitely not be able to combo as well. Besides, how would you prevent a no souper from getting soup? A plugin for this will be very, very hard to code, and could cause lots of lag as well. Just leave it as 2 separate server types, and everyone will be happy

    A plugin that prevents some players for souping and at the same time allows some to soup. This can be quite hard

    I don't think the plugin would be laggy tbh, it just wouldn't work out imo

    I like the idea, but doing it this way can't work the way you say it.

    having an extra 3-5 hearts late game is absolutely useless. That's 1-2 soup required in order to match the nosouper's total hearts. Heck, even 50 hearts with nosoup versus a souper with full inventory and iron on both sides isn't a fair fight (I thought about this on MunchyMC-*shot*). But having 50 hearts at the beginning of the game is obviously retarted (has been a tart more than once). The only way to make this idea "fair" would to have the nosouper's total hearts increase exponentially as the game progresses.

    Oh yeah that's a great idea!

    WRONG! Having 60 something hearts screws up the rest of the """""""""balance""""""""" that "kind of" still exists at this point.

    I've been playing with the idea of nosoup combining with soup and I've thought of the best way of it being possible. But nobody here is going to agree with it because this server is full of narrow-minded sheep that can't accept change when THAT was the very reason mcpvp got shut down! NOBODY WANTED TO CHANGE!

    No offense tho.

    And also I've been wanting to say to the people that say "We can't remove this kit becoz HG will lose money". Well guess what, it's not your money and it's not my money so THAT shouldn't concern US the consumers. Sometimes you have to make small sacrifices in order to progress. Do it correctly and you have a better game (with better profits mind you).

    (I meant to post this yesterday but I don't know what happened but it saved my rant so I'll post it now)

    Edit: Just read it was 3-5 "rows" of hearts instead of extra hearts. The second half of my point still stands.

    This is an interesting idea. Though I think that it would effect gameplay way too much. As Oerlikon said fall traps, stompers, etc. will all be affected because of the hearts. Regardless of that I think that this would turn the game into too much of a kitpvp server and thats not really good.

    I realize now how broken this would be in some aspects of gameplay such as traps and towers, seeing as you could pretty much negate all stomper/fall damage due to the amount of hearts. Thanks for all the feedback, was just an idea I had and wanted to discuss.
