Backup + Respawn bug.

    If you spawn in with backup, you spawn with a compass and book. If you die without choosing a kit (and therefore respawn) the next time you pick a kit you will spawn with a compass.

    This allows MVP+ players to die as a backup, respawn, pick a kit and restart the game as if nothing happened (except you lose resources you gathered).

    A small bug, but potentially significant.

    IIRC this was intentional

    Also even if you don't have the book you can do /kit to chose your kit so it doesn't really matter

    As a backup when you pick a kit, you get a compass. Maybe they should remove this, I understand the problems of getting a compass after dying
