It gets a little out of hand when people apply and only have 1-10 posts
It is pretty much an automatic deny, right?
i think there should be like a 50+ post minimum for applying
maybe not even that high, like even 25+ is reasonable because someone signs up one day then makes his or her application right then and right now. And after a while and more people see it, they reply to their post and their post only, not to anything else.
    right?

F*ck that, I only give apps +1 if they have 100+ posts.

Some mod please move this thread to here.
I like this idea as well, however, as many have said before, this might lead to a lot of spam posts from new members just so they can post a mod app.

True, however, when I (+1) or (-1) an application, I go through their posts. If their posts are legit and helpful, and are actually contributing to the thread, then I give them a (+1). If I see them post a bunch of "(-1)" with no reason behind it what so ever, then I know they are just getting their posts up to make their own Moderator application. Plus, spamming is against the forum rules, a and can get you banned. It's really not hard to tell if someone is spamming. They simply get forum banned. I feel this would be a great idea, for I hate seeing someone post their Moderator application as their first post. It gets really aggravating after a while. (+1) on this idea from me (Should require 50+ posts to post a Moderator application). I really hope this gets implemented.

This is a great idea in theory but in reality I feel that this would cause unwanted "Harm."
Leading along the lines to what Signatured said people would most likely "Spam" the forum to become eligible to apply.
I do however like the idea of only having a small minimum to apply rather than a larger number since it could make would be applier not bother to apply and or get them to find out more about the website before applying, which could lead to new good input to benefit the community.
This idea has been suggested before and sadly "Shot down" also.

Yes, it sounds like you are saying that MPS should limit the amount of comments people can make. But I do like the idea of a required amount of forums posts. Being a good forums mod is just as important as being a server mod. I say 100+ messages is the base line for being active.

In my opinion, that would be a great idea. The amount of posts should be limited to 15-20 posts, due to the fact that; When a new user applies, and he/she gets denied, other people will still criticize, making it harder on the user.

200 posts and I'll look at your app... I say 200 because you are then "Active Member" x2.

Honestly, I'm tempted to limit it, but if we allow people to apply when they aren't active it shows they didn't read the "Read me" and shouldn't really be a moderator.

No i dont think there should be a limit there are many immature people that wants to get mod and they post app after app, and if this got implemented then their chance to get mod would be ruined when they actually are mature. Maybe mods can disable people for making a mod app for maybe 3 months?

Pretty simple. Just put into the application something to the effect of: "You MUST be active on the forums."
This will save us from plenty of apps that are auto-denied for the person being some.
Although, some people suggest making it so the person has to have a certain amount of post. That wouldn't work. That will just increase spam.
We COULD make to that the account has to be created a certain amount of time ago, and then the amou t of posts will be judged.
Point being, there are too many apps that are made by peple who just joined.

Just simply put SNN and -1. Then rate their poll as no.

It isn't really a massive problem, I can't say I don't enjoy reading a newbie application every once in a while. It doesn't take long to deny and move them to denied.

    True dat.

This won't do anything to stop new members from posting apps.

I like the idea, though I love hurting and crushing dreams of a noob...
Hmm, I will think on it.
Ollie, I hope your application is accepted next mod wave.
    Good Luck.
And this idea is OK and decent.
