Give back negative ratings!

I agree to this. Several people want negative ratings back, but the staff's just "no"

They might have also removed it because people would spam unnecessary negative ratings, but the forum ban system isn't around for no reason

 

If you don't agree with a thread/post you can always reply and say whats bothering you.

The "list" button exists for a reason

Agreed, the disagree button would help quite a lot for numerous occasions.

 

I don't think it should be counted to total ratings though.

 

I disagree. There are not enough annoying posts around for this to be needed. If someone was trying to be funny and you disliked their post, don't you think that would make them mad? Also, as stated earlier, if you don't find a post useful, then you can reply to the section. I however think, that you should PM the person with a professional manner, so that only posts that are really annoying get attention.

Negative ratings were the cancer of this community.
They were extremely stupid and I don't believe it is worth bringing them back.
You may want it, but I hope you realize that they can be abused. No matter what happens, I'm strongly against ratings. If they ever come back, I am guaranteed to leave this community permanently.

What would annoy you more? Someone saying "I disagree" or someone saying "I disagree for this and this reason"?
To me the answer is obvious and a disagree rating is similar to the first option. Dislikes cause even more hostility. Overall I just don't see how these contribute to the forums community and atmosphere in any way. They would for sure be abused sometimes and also cause flame wars. It is easy to dislike something, if you reply to a thread it will require atleast a bit more time and thoughts put into it.
