Story Project Nemesis

Flashback:

My official rank is classified to the population at large but among the special operations community I am call sign Mr_Evil_Overlord. I have tactical command of Task Force Nemesis. I created the task force on behalf of the United States Government to combat metahuman threats around the world. Our operations are black on black, we take out heroes and super villains.

Imagine if you will that Superman goes bats*t crazy… Plan B is my team of expendables to take them down.

Present day:

I received ROBBIE’s transmission she had located Fireball. LEKO (@_huehue ) teleported to us to pick up the team of MR_OBSIDIAN, DARK_SHADOW, and THE_ROCK. His ability to blink “teleport” was a key element to our transportation. LEKO transported us to the coordinates ROBBIE provided.

We arrive at what appeared to be an elementary school. I lock eyes on Fireball as soon as we arrive. She had been protecting an elementary school classroom. The windows and doors and been secured. I can tell she had done everything possible to keep these kids alive. Her ability to control flame and flight would have allowed her to leave at any time but knowing her like I do I just knew that she could not abandon these kids. My team fanned out to secure the building. The kids were in shock and awe as they saw my team arrive out of nowhere.

The zombie apocalypse occurred so quickly that many kids were caught at school. I almost forgot that Fireball had not seen me in my costume before. To the world at large I was the Evil Overlord. However, Jennifer Cruz aka Fireball knew me as her boyfriend who didn’t have any powers.

I quickly pulled off my mask so she would not incinerate myself and my team. The look on her face was absolutely priceless…

A short time later, after explaining the situation and Task Force Nemesis I gave her time to compose her thoughts. It’s not every day that you find out your significant other is a super villain working on behalf of the US Government.

Fireball began to tell me the story of the outbreak. The Guardians, earth’s premier super hero team had attempted to apprehend Dr_Sinister and things went horribly wrong. As she recanted her story I began to connect the dots. MR_INVINCIBLE had led his team to Sinister’s lab. During the brief battle Blitz (@tyuioblitz ) had used his super speed and somehow crashed into one of the experiments. As Fireball unveiled the story Blitzes went into seizures and died. Before the team knew what had happened he was back up. He proceeded to maul Striker (@Striker_Sly ) the foremost martial artist in the world, Andoconda the reptilian member of the team (@Kinardna ) and Xavier (@Xavier1974 ) the youngest member of the team who had the ability read minds. Within seconds the entire team was infected.

Fireball burned her way through the ceiling of the lab as soon as she saw what was happening. MR_INVINCIBLE had tried to catch Blitzes but he was too quick. Within a few moments he was out of the lap and had infected everyone int he building. As usual, MR_INVINCIBLE’s wife the world famous television reporter was reporting on the battle live outside. He was too slow to stop Blitzes as he mauled her to death. Fireball had managed to catch and incinerate Blitzes before he ran into an elementary school. Within 5 minutes the entire area had been infected. She ushered in the elementary kids and began ordering the staff to barricade the doors and windows. Her only hope was that MR_INVINCIBLE could stop the infection. He was the only hero on the team with impenetrable skin. Little did she know that he had suffered a complete nervous breakdown and collapsed when his wife was mauled to death before his eyes.

The zombie infection spread to the surrounding area….
