Well this is more a school topic but I know the Brawl community always gives me good advice. So basically I have decided to join a club this year and I am debating between 2. The first is Academic Decathlon and the second is the Make-A-Wish Foundation club. So at first I wanted to join Decathlon because it sounded so fun to whip butt in an academic competition and to also get medals from it. But then I heard about the Make-A-Wish foundation club from one of my teachers. Basically what you do is volunteer work and fundraisers in order to raise money so a kid that will die or live but have a chronic condition that will basically ruin their life can make a wish. I feel like joining this club would just be a lot more fun and it would just make me feel good inside but at the same time, impressing my parents with 8 medals would make me feel good too. I don't know which I should join, but could you guys help me out? Thanks guys!

If you think the Make-a-Wish club would be more fun for you, and would also be helping kids in need, I would choose that club. You could explain to your parents that joining this club would be donating (for lack of a better word) to a better cause that gives children better futures, plus you find it more enjoyable. Isn't that what a club is for? To do things you enjoy and have at the same time?

What sounds more outstanding and unique on a college application? You and other people donating your time to help kids in need, or you competing in an academic competition that so many people already do?

[insert witty well written comment here]

Volunteer work always looks better on a CV than how many medals you won being a smart kid.

    Make-A-Wish sounds better.
