Book Random Book (Sneak Peak)

SO basically I'm just typing up a sneak peak of something I may or may not work on, depending on if people like it or something. It's basically a sneak peak of the book that you might find on the back of the cover that describes a scene in the book, I guess.
It has nothing to do with minecraft or any sort of gaming, but here goes:

Broken and Alone

I stopped suddenly, choking, gasping for air. I couldn't breathe. The taste of blood filled my mouth, the smell of iron clogged my lungs. I could barely stand from my wounds. Yet I couldn't stop. I couldn't go back. I couldn't let them find me again.

I tried to feel my way around in the cold darkness, sliding along the coarse stone wall. Already their shouts of surprise and anger reached my ears as they found their fallen comrade and discovered their precious prisoner had escaped.

I've got to find a real weapon, I thought. The only thing I had was some branch I had found to splint the knee they'd broken. The blasted thing was swelled up already black and blue. I cursed as the brightness from their flashlights began to fill the hall I had stopped in.

"These guys really love me," I muttered to myself. "The least they could have done was bought me a drink before they went beating me up."

I couldn't outrun them. So, I undid my makeshift brace and hefted up the heavy branch, preparing to fight as best I could. Suddenly, the lights turned around and left as quickly as they came. I waited a few more moments before sighing in relief and letting the branch fall to the ground.

If only my team were still alive, I thought glumly. I had only been a member for a couple of weeks, the youngest one at that. We were running a hostage rescue mission that went sour when we discovered we'd been fed false intel. My team and I didn't stand a chance. The last time I saw my team was when I was being dragged away. I still remember the looks of disbelief and horror on their faces while their bodies were riddled with bullets.​
