I have conducted a research for an attempt to see what is the profile of the person who is selling on steam, there have been some attempts and some even talk about apps that can show you the profile of the person selling. But, I should first give some backup information...

Previously in the Steam Market, whenever someone sold something it gave you a link to their profile when their listing showed up, this was mainly used for going to their profile and trying to trade for the item they were selling, this also opened way for spam bots to spam trades/messages. Steam saw this and hid their accounts. Now there are attempts to still access their profile, not sure if they succeeded or failed, but considering I, just a waffle have found a possible way, I'm sure there are some who have found it as well.

I know a way, but I haven't concluded that I can do it, my curiosity led me to dragging and dropping the picture shown when a Steam Market listing appears. I tested this out by selling a UMP | Scorched for 400$ :stuck_out_tongue:.

I saw the URL of the picture in the listing, and went over to my profile and checked the URL of my profile picture. And amazingly, I found that they both matched! There was just a tiny issue, the listing picture was

    while my profile picture was

But this can be easily fixed by removing the "_full" at the end of the profile picture, and WABAM, the URLs match perfectly. I was thinking that the use of bots need to implemented so that the bots can scour the Steam Community Players (they can narrow down the search to people who have that specific item to take less of a time) and find the exact player needed.

Well, that's something I figured out in less than a minute whilst bored ^.^, @Phanta just cuz.
