    Sup,

The bullets are doing a weird movement making it difficult to see if they are aimed at you. It's happening to a number of people.

I think this is a glitch.

Please be more specific. What is that "weird movement" they are doing?

I noticed that bullets (in War) stray off course even if the player fires them but thankfully they still hit their target.

it's like they are zig zagging sideways or up and down as they fly straight.

For me too. I shoot straight, it goes way to the left, but then hits my target. Is there a way to fix this?

I think it's a visual glitch. Maybe server-side glitch, not client.

I agree with the visual glitch and it being client side since it is affecting numerous people. @SpookBreaker to the rescue!

Zigzagging. Also, most sniper bullets have an extreme delay in their movement, creating like a double image. Likely due to the speed of the bullets.

Okay, so basically it's like this:

The server sends packets to the client describing what the world looks like, including the position and momentum of thrown snowballs. Between these updates, the client simulates snowball physics according to Minecraft's vanilla physics engine, then makes corrections when the next packet arrives.

Our fork of Bukkit, Joecraft, has custom snowball mechanics implemented. Snowballs will fly in a straight line along a vector, unaffected by gravity - meaning the snowball's flight path serverside deviates from what the client expects. As such, the client will show the snowball's flight to be "zig-zaggy" as it simulates gravity, corrects position, simulates gravity, corrects position, etc.

The only realistic solution I can think of is increasing the frequency of these update packets, but that would caise massive lag and eat up bandwidth.

Well I think this is incorrect, because first it only happens on some servers, and for me it looks like the bullets hit my own boody, break, but somehow still hit the enemy, try to shoot through those "head glitch" spots (those things that are one and a half block high), the same happens, the bullet breaks at the half block, but the enemy still gets shoot. BTW I think war already had this glitch once befor.

The other issue is that Joecraft snowballs have a far simpler model of physics, which means they're less likely to break at high velocity. Vanilla Minecraft physics tend to break when objects are traveling at extremely high speeds, meaning snowballs will sometimes look like they're flying the wrong direction on the client.

As for your comment about only certain servers being affected, I can only assume it's caused by lag, which would lower the frequency of update packets, and therefore the frequency of corrections to the snowballs.

I just tried shooting on 3 different war servers and I could not reproduce the bug. Could you please test if it still happens?
