Flares

Woof woof.

 

I myself have never used flares nor was I here when they worked. They seem cool though, hopefully they get added back.

 

Has your brother Mario ever tried them before?

 

I loved flare...... you could lock the door, you could put it on the gate of the tower/echest room/other area
to lock the players up in there and when they try to get out, they have to die or get back inside before zombie eat them..
I hope they fix it fast as they can

There's still one thing that flares are good for, getting yourself out of a room that's locked by iron doors. They saved my ass on server 10.

 

I have never used them before but thanks for letting me know what they're used for @F1r3tar, I had about 20 of them in one game before lol.

 

Flares don't work anymore, they suck now. You can't do anything with them anymore

 

As I stated before, they're good for opening iron doors.

 

Flares were disabled in 1.6 because they caused lag issues.

 

I hope they never get re added. Someone put down so many one time it crashed it was terrible.

 

Ah, well if it 'caused lag, I suppose it's best for the server to keep flares disabled.

There's a building in the outskirts of the nether. If you accidentally log out, someone can lock the iron doors from the front and you're trapped there until someone flicks those levers or you use a flare to open them manually. Note: There are 2 chests in the trapped room.

As Chris stated, they were removed due to lag. They caused massive amounts of lag if abused (for lack of a better word) correctly.
Players would use flares before battle to cause lag to their advantage.
They could be added back if the lag issue is fixed. If.

 

I don't go much in never because of the risk of finding a team of 3 but I believe you

 

Just use a compass to see if there's a team there.
