Accepted Nezzr's Jmod Application

Brawl Junior Moderator Application:
Before I start this application I just wanted to say that I was previously very immature, and the past few months I believe that my maturity level has drastically increased. I have tried to become very active on the three areas looked at while becoming a Junior Moderator (ts3, forums, and in-game) I currently have 150+ forum posts, 250+ wins on skywars, and I try to be on Team Speak every day. This is my first application, and I believe I'm ready to take on the position as Jmod.

-We currently have only a single Moderator for the Skywars server, who is doing a great job of watching out for rule breakers (Lozzylouise), but I've noticed time zones are an issue. Knowing that Lozzy is from the UK there are many rule breakers when she is not online, having a JMod from the United States would help the Brawl community find more of those rule breakers. There is also a glitch in Skywars which allows players to use VIP and MVP kits providing an unfair advantage, with another moderator finding these abusing players would be much easier.

What is your in-game name? -My in-game name is Nezzr, I plan on keeping that name, and don't intend on changing it on the future.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? -No one has access to my account, I change my password every month or two to insure my security.

How old are you? -I am currently 13 years of age (Born May 15, 2002), I know that may be a little young for JMod, but I think that my maturity level is high for my age.
What time zone are you in? - I live in Texas, so I am in Central Time (UTC- 6:00)
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -Yes I can, I'll go into depth about them below...

Spanish-

I am currently in Spanish 1, and have only taken a single semester of it. I can have a very simple conversation. I am planning on carrying out my Spanish classes, and taking a Spanish 2 course in Summer School. I find this language to be only a little useful in-game, but every one in a while you find someone talking in Spanish on ts3 or in chat.

English-

English is my native language, and I can carry out a complete and in-depth conversation.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -I started playing Minecraft in January of 2015, I know this isn't very long considering that others have been playing for many years. But I know that I have enough knowledge of Minecraft to fully understand it. I started playing Minecraft when one day a close friend and I were bored. She suggested trying out Minecraft. We started on what was then McBrawl. The first server I saw her play was Minecraft party. I immediately fell in love with the idea of being able to play various minigames. After serveral hours of watching her play, I was mesmerized, and I soon purchased my own Minecraft account. My username was fabulouspotatoes, and at first I wasn't very good at party, but I eventually started playing more and more. At the time I didn't know about the /hub command. I once saw someone in chat saying to do it. I discovered many new gamemodes, my favorites were Skywars and Creative.
I then discovered the rank system on Brawl's creative server, this inspired me to make a forums account and apply for Advanced Builder. After being accepted I quickly climbed the rank ladder all the way up to WEpro. I loved the fact that creative had a large and friendly community. One day when creative was down, was very bored and decided to try out a new gamemode. My first one was Skywars. After a couple of games I understood the concept, and I was hooked.
It took a while before I won any games, but I didn't give up. After many rounds of loss after loss I finally won a game. This encouraged me to play more and more. I soon found myself at 50 wins, the 100, then 200. That brings to me to where I am today.
What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I have very little experience moderating any servers. I was moderator on a friend's server, this was a very small server. We only got to about 10 players a day. Without enough players the server was forced to shut down. Another server I was Builder on, this isn't exactly a Moderator position, but the Builder position was a high respected rank which took a lot of maturity. I built for this server for only a month. I became inactive and was soon demoted, I do not have any proof of being builder on this server, but I'm pretty sure the server is still up today.
What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
I would like to help newer players understand gamemodes, and make the community a better place. Seeing many outros caused be the toxicity of the community pushes me to apply.Including hackers, glitchers, spammers, flamers, and Chat violations. One thing that always annoys me is people getting away with breaking the rules and /report doesn't always work because moderators are busy with catching hackers, flamers etc. I want people to enjoy their stay at Brawl. Lastly, I would overall try to make everyone's experience a great one.


Have you ever used a hacked client before? -Yes, I have downloaded a hacked client called x-ray, and I understand it provides an unfair advantage, and have since uninstalled it. I have never used it on Brawl servers, nor do I intend to.
Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -Unfortunately I have been banned from a server. This was a several months ago, and I was very immature. I was banned on a friend's server for spamming. This was because I was muted multiple times and refused to follow instructions. This resulted in me being banned. I have since matured greatly, and never intend on doing it again.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
My greatest strength is most likely my composure in tough situations. Many others would get stressed or even upset under pressure, I also find myself very patient, I'm often watching young children, this tries my patience. Through this I manage to stay calm and composed.
What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness would most likely be my shyness. I often find myself in awkward situations on ts3
This would normally discourage me to join any public channels, but lately I've been branching out and larger channels. At first I'm normally very quiet, but then I warm up to people.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -I consider myself very active. I have 250+ wins on Skywars, I try to be online everyday. I have about 1,000 games played as well. I'm normally online in the afternoons and evening due to having school and other obligations.
Which Brawl servers are you most active on? -I'm active on servers such as Party, Creative, Survival and Skywars. I'll go more in depth below

Skywars- Skywars is my primary server. I play on this when almost all the time, I'm very active on it.

Creative- Creative is my secondary/primary gamemode. I love creative. I am a WEpro, and consider myself very active on it. I enjoy taking apart in community activities such as build comps, and I'm even apart of a small build group.

Party- I enjoy playing party with all of my friends, I often play when I'm stressed out or have a lot on my mind. I currently have about 8,000 coins, I normally play with friends while I'm on ts3.

Survival- I play survival with my friends. I've met so many new people on it. I joined a team of about 11 to 12 people. We had fun mining, and killing people at spawn. I'm not very active on there now due to the fact that many people on the team are inactive, but I enjoy getting on every once in a while to say Hello

War, WarZ, Minestrike, CTF, Build- I'm not very active on these servers, due to the fact that my ability with guns is not the best.
How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -Weekdays- On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday I'm committed to other things from 4:30-6, I usually make time for Minecraft after and before those time periods. I can spend from 1-4 hours on those days. On Wednesday and Friday I normally get on right after school (3:30) I can provide from 1-6 hours on these days.

Weekends- On weekends I can spend 2-8+ hours a day, due to the fact that in the evenings I'm able to stay up late.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -
If the player is-
Glitching-Warn them that abusing this glitch is bannable, if they continue to abuse, then I would kick them accordingly, increasing the amount of time each time the glitch is abused by the same player.

Hacking- If I believe they are hacking I would record them with Fraps . I would ban them for the max amount of time (1 hour) then alert a higher up staff member that there is a hacker in-game.

Spamming/Flaming- I would warn the player that what they're doing is against the rules, and if they continue to do this they will be muted. If they continue then I would kick them for the appropriate amount of time.


What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
Spamming/Flaming/Random Useless Threads- Tell the player that what they're doing is wrong. I would then edit/remove the post accordingly.
Wrong Section- Report the thread, so that an SMod+ can move it to the appropriate section.
Gravedig- Lock the thread and alert the player what they were doing wrong.
Duplicate Thread- Lock the thread, and show them the link to the other thread, so that the conversation can still be discussed.
What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -
Inappropriate/ Different Name- Tell the player that their name needs to be changed, if they refused I would move them into the rules channel and tell them again. If they refuse a third time I would then kick them accordingly.
Backround Noise- Tell the player that they have background noise if it continues I would move the player to Force Push To Talk.
Flaming- Tell the person to stop flaming or they will be kicked from the server.
Ddos/Dox threats- Take screenshots, and send them to a person of higher rank. Then ban the user immediately.
Staff impersonation- Tell the user that they need to stop, if they continue then I would kick for the appropriate amount of time.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -I would Inform all the players that the glitch they are abusing is bannable, and anyone who abuses it will be banned. I would then alert a staff of higher rank, and tell them about this glitch. If users still continue to abuse this glitch I would ban them accordingly. I would also keep track of player's stats to make sure that all stats are reset to the way they were before the glitch was introduced.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - I've never applied for a Brawl staff position.

Do you have a working microphone? -Yes, I have a Razer Kraken headset, which has a built in microphone,it is very high quality. I can also speak into my computer, which also has a built in microphone
Are you able to record and upload videos? -Yes, I currently have Fraps that I can record videos if I desire.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
Yes I know /kick, /kick (for up to an hour),/mute, /unmute and /prune. I have knowledge on how all these commands work, and how to properly use them.

Anything else we should know about you? -Hi! I'm Emily. You can call me Nezz, Nezzr, Em, whatever floats you boat. I live in Texas, and no I'm not a cowboy. I enjoy playing lacrosse with my spare time. I'm currently in 8th grade, and I'm very excited to be making this application. I would love to become a new edition to the Brawl staff team.

Thanks for the feedback, my maturity on creative is a little rough. I'll be working on that, however I don't believe I've ever stole any builds.

 

I see, this was when I was still coming out of my "immaturity" stage. The beginning summer was a while ago, and I believe I have matured since then.

 

I believe that I have matured greatly since the events in May. May I ask what I can do to improve my application? I have been trying my best to be active on team speak, for example I was online for at least 2 hours today, but I'll still get working on this area.

 

Like I stated before, and in my application I was previously very immature, and I've learned and grown from my mistakes. On the subject of the YouTube video- I noticed that the CMs were accepting all the applications as long as the player wasn't a trouble maker due to the fact that Creative was merging with build. I was We1 at the time and I thought "Why not skip a rank? If I just apply now I'll get accepted." I quickly pulled together builds, and made a very sloppy application. One of those builds I happened to have on my plot was that castle build, which is from YouTube. I realize now that my decisions I've made in the past aren't my best ones. I have changed greatly, and I know that I'm mature enough to handle this.

 

My team speak activity could be a time zone issue, I've only seen you online a few times, I've only ever spoken to you once this was about 2 months ago. Like I stated about my maturity issues were in May, this was many months ago. Is there anything I can do to improve my application?
