Sniper Rifles out-winning (almost) against all other guns (Discussion)

    Okay, so first off, you might get a little angry by the title but that's okay.
    What's this all about?
    Well, from what I've seen is all the snipers can shutdown anybody super easily. How so? Well, for starters, snipers have a moderate fire rate, which makes them being able to jump snipe people from some corner.
    With their firerate, they're able to take down hallways fairly easily. This is a problem I see often, snipers shouldn't exactly have the fire-rate they currently have (exception is for Dragnuv and MSR), on a super high killstreak? Have a sniper bullet to the head because someone was firing into a hallway with his Iso and Python. Spawn protection wore off? Well, good luck with living by the Isolator around the corner! Walk into a door way and walk around a corner? Say hi to the sniper at your head! Walking into a hallway and person is standing on-top of an area and you can't see them? Well, there comes a Isolator bullet. Every single time it's that one sniper bullet from someone that camps around the corner.
    Seriously, it's so damn annoying, to find one person who's camping around a door way with their Sniper around that damn corner and they're unkillable because of the one-shot.
    Almost no other gun can contest against a sniper, the firerate for snipers can take out most people fairly quickly. However, wouldn't giving a Slowness I debuff on Isolator (because Iso is a very powerful weapon)?
    What are your thoughts on snipers?

    I think we should just leave them the way they are personally.

    I guess they're fine. But for War 2.0 or whatever, they could be tweaked so they don't have the "jump behind a corner" strategy. Guess the balance of recoil would fix that.
    And yes, it's late and I can't sleep.

    This is what War is about. People sneak around corners, but if you're smart you use a c4 or some grenades to luer out the players. There are endless possibilities on War, use them, become better, and win the game.
    If you cant beat them, join them :wink:

    In order to properly balance the snipers you would need to make plugins that are impossible.

    Recoil my friend. And or adding a debuff upon the use of the item.

    Snipers were the only guns not affected by the snowball knockback if you think about it.

    Recoil should be added no matter what, lol.
    That's a bug, and it should be fixed along with knockback.

    Jump around with skully or famas and they'll be no problem.

    Or a moddel or spas 24. In my opinion, the snipers are perfectly balanced with the other weapons (except iso). Any powerful non-sniper like a moddel or a skully will easily kill someone with a sniper.

    Snipers are easy to use because they 1 shot people with no skill whatsoever. In other games, sniper rifles are good only when you get headshots, and in War its easy as hell to get headshots.

    Perhaps you'd like to prove that snipers require "no skill whatsoever". You can't just make an assertion without having some experience first :l

    So you're saying that with a good sniper you always nuke because it doesn't require any skill? I don't think so. Many 30+ have iso, but do they always nuke? This is exactly what shows that it need skill to stay alive and get a nuke. Remember that the iso has only 4 shots, low fire time and slow reload. Dissa doesn't one shot, but 1 shots in the head. This sniper has lots of ammo and a huge clip, so this also requires skill.

    No, I don't think anything would be nerfed as it is already stable enough.
    Except for raygun. I just realised it even 1 shots a zombie diamond armor, and I don't think its balanced enough.

    I agree, the reloading rate needs to be decreased....But I don't see this as a major problem

    I know you're referring to when I out-camped you a few days ago, or a similar incident, and yes.
    Buying crossbow/minigun and superarmor and spawncamping down a hallway, you can't call someone else a noob or anything.

    But I have two viewpoints on this. One, it's not a major problem. Two, if you can AIM, it's a big problem. See, most players don't really aim for the head (I think) and so guns like L118a are pretty bad to them because of firerate and damage. But anyone that is good enough to aim for the head and actually get headshots with it is pretty much as set to go with the l118a as the iso.

    I think aiming for the head is a good call out. I do this most of the time as well and it is a lethal combination.

    Give me a Disassembler and Super Armor...BOOM!

    Knock back, slowness form weight, scoping in, fire rate, bullet velocity, mechanics, reloading, time between aimming in and shooting, no scoping. These are all major factors that we can make plugins for but not fine-tuned plugins IMO.
    I think your old mcwar client really balanced snipers because you had to zoom in and stuff. That mad it a little harder but it was a lot of fun. Personally once I got used to it I was better with your client, other than the lag factor that came with 1.8.
