    I think it would be pretty cool if you could for example type /toggle clan it would make a private clan chat kinda like /msg but for the whole clan! When clan chat is toggled u cant see messages from anyone that has toggled /toggle public.
    And vice versa

    Pretty cool, means you can have private conversations with lots of people without tabbing out to skype.

    Has been suggested before in a similar manner.
    I do fancy this suggestion. When the clan is in clan chat no text from the public will be displayed and visa versa?

    I think this is a great idea. Even though I sometimes like to read public chat, it would be nice to not be able to see all the clutter while reading messages from my clan members. (+1) on the idea from me, hope to see this implemented!

    Maybe if you did /clan chat or something it would show an additional clan chat in green or something.

    You could have a private conversation in the chat just for your team, sounds good why not ?

    Team chat seems like it would be pretty cool too. That way you could plan strategies.

    Is it supposed to be a global chat as well? Like if I'm playing on server 1, and my clan mates are playing on server 7, can I chat with them via clan chat then even if I play on a different server?

    Won't work not even with a plugin, you can't connect server chats. Mojang will have to do it themselves
