Other How to make a generally balanced and fair map

    Please note that this isn't flawless/perfect. I will go over the general things in these War maps.

    Avoid all these things as you possibly can (sometimes, it's okay to put these things in, depends).

    Adding in that one spot
    This'll cause very unfair advantages towards that team. Shouldn't really have to explain since you would know a few of these.​

    Very bumpy terrain, fences, lava and water lakes/rivers.
    Remember, if the battle ground is on very bumpy terrain, then it'll usually cause issues with both or one certain side(s). Bumpy terrain can cause people to fail horrible because of multiple types of terrain and having to walk through the area with worry. Make flat-ish maps that will provide balanced fights.
    Fences, sometimes they're cool for scenery and such, but they can be such a true annoyance when they're in the way of jumping to one spot or getting to an area. Usually it'll detect you jumping on the fence and put you back down. It's hella annoying. And make sure it isn't blocking any main path ways as well...
    Lava and water, lets talk about this. Lava damages people. 'Nuff said, it looks nice in scenery though, just make sure not to have too much, other wise it'll cause frame rate drops.
    Water, it slows down people and in certain fights, it can be truly annoying to be slowed down and gunned down because of the water blocking your sight (DDay for example)
    Multiple moving objects and such
    Can you guess why this is a problem? Well you dun easily guessed! Frame rate drops!
    Redstone, flowing water/lava, dark areas, and flashing lights.
    Secret areas
    Shouldn't really have to explain this too much. Don't allow in secret areas that can give advantages. In infect, this can cause issues.
    One hallway that leads to camping area
    Specifically on infect. Allows for the survivors to cleanhouse that hallway and be unstoppable because of that. Gets really annoying when there's only one way to one area...
    Doorways/hallways that extend far away from the spawn in-which spawn protection wears off
    Spawn camping can occur, very frustrating... To avoid it, stop making them so damn unfair and spawns far away from the said areas. Or don't let the enemy team get to that spot so easily or control it easily.
    One area being the "Superior"
    In detail wise, this is when one area will have utter complete control and you are unable to do anything about it or even control it for that matter (HaloOutpost in a nutshell)
    Open areas that lead to spawn but other spawn is covered
    No... Just, no...
    This should be about it. If you got anymore things that can be added, I would love to add them in.

    Yep, good stuff. But it's kinda the COD map's fault of having all of these issues, which makes it more of a responsibility to choose the danke maps.
