Have you read over this thread? - Yes and I fully acknowledge the responsibility and requirements of a moderator.


What is your in-game name? - Currently SasMastah (I do not plan on changing it)


Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - I have had the account names way2hot4warz, Sas__, 5a5, and W1lliam. A list of my names can be found here.


Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - No, no one else does.


How old are you? - I am 15 years old as of this past September.


What timezone are you in? - I am EST. (Boston, MA)


Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - I am completely fluent in spanish and english. I know that there are many people who claim to speak spanish but I was actually brought up in a spanish environment and educational system so I would consider myself fully fluent.


What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I am well experienced with minecraft, as I was introduced at an early age. The first and only server I have actually ever played was Brawl (then known as McWar). I joined minecraft in October of 2012 and shortly after was an active member of the McWar servers. Since then I have been on-and-off active on minecraft but I plan to be back in the community for a long time and am not planning on leaving anytime soon.





What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I was a War mod back in 2013. Since Brawl has been my only server I have devoted time to, I have not actually had an opportunity to explore other communities and apply for staff positions on other servers. Being a War mod was fun but also hard and it was hard for me because of my school and social life that I could not balance. As I was inactive, I became less drawn to minecraft and moved on. I have now returned and hope to be here for a long while more to help serve Brawl.


What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - I would help the community in every possible way I could. I feel like I connect very well with the community and I feel as though I am an “easy” person to talk to. Players would feel fine approaching me with any questions or concerns. What can I provide compared to other moderators? Well, I have noticed often with my schedule that I am often on when there are few mods. Ex. in the morning (EST) there are very few mods on if any. I can be on at times where there are few mods so this will provide a more broad spectrum of coverage throughout Brawl.


Have you ever used a hacked client before? - No


Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - No


What do you consider your greatest strength? - I feel very comfortable talking to people on teamspeak and therefore, in a tough situation, I find myself often being the one to talk while others may be too shy to deal punishment. When there is a time where there are many people in a channel at once and it is hard to handle, (happens very often), I find myself able to handle the situation efficiently and organized.


What do you consider your greatest weakness? - I often find hard the balance between school work and pastimes. While I am able to devote all possible time I can to Brawl, school is also a big part of my life and it is sometimes hard trying to find a balance.


How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? - I am active on:


Weekdays: On weekdays I can find the time to play at least 2-3 hours, sometimes more if I get lucky with my homework situation and time management.


Weekends: I am able to devote 6 or more hours a day easily, often more. (this is in-game, I am constantly on the forums and more often than not on teamspeak)


Overall: I am extremely active overall, if I am not in-game, I am definitely on the forums whether it be on my phone, computer, or wherever I can access it. Every minute I can, I will devote to Brawl on the bus to school, on the car ride home, etc.


Which Brawl servers are you most active on? - I really enjoy WarZ, therefore I will often be found on there but I also love playing any of the other various servers. As I am applying for WarZ, that is where I will be devoting my focus in-game and on forums.


How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? - As I went into detail above, my weekly schedule is fairly open. The only biggest responsibility of mine currently is school. Weekday nights and weekends I will constantly be on.


What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? - Depending on the severity of the rule that was broken, different actions would occur:


Glitching: I would watch this person and give out warning when necessary. If they continue to be arrogant and keep on glitching, depending on the severity of the glitch that is being exploited, I would, (after warnings have been given), kick them for however long is necessary.


Hacking: I would keep an eye on this person to see if they are blatantly hacking or if it is debatable. If it was blatant, I would then record and report to www.brawl.com/report. If it was not obvious but suspicious I would still record and report in case they are ever caught again, they will already have a report filed under their name.



Excessive Swearing/Threats: I would give a warning and if they continued, a mute depending on the severity of the swearing/threat.



What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? - I would first PM them telling them the mistake they have made in-case they were unaware they even broke a rule. If they continued to break the same or other rules I would inform a higher moderator or S-Mod of the situation and have them deal a suiting punishment. If it was a simple rule that was broken such as a thread in the wrong section, I would just deal with it myself and inform them and correct them.


What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? - Most teamspeak rules will be handled similarly, so I apologize if this gets a little repetitive. I will try to keep it short.


Staff/Member Disrespect: I would tell this person to please stop disrespecting whoever it may be and if they do not yield my warning, I will mute them. If they still continue after a kick or possibly a mute, I will ban them for a short period of time.


Mic Spamming or Screaming: If someone immediately joins a channel playing a loud sound board or screaming into a mic, I will just immediately move them into Rules -Read the sidebar or Jail. If they play a soundboard or mic spam in a manner in which I can speak with them hearing, I will first warn them.


Excessive Swearing/Vulgarity: Even if someone does not swear excessively, I would warn them not to over swear in a public channel. If they choose to ignore my warning and continue, they will be kicked or muted.


Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? - I would immediately make an announcement stating not to abuse the glitch and it will be fixed shortly. If they continue and do not heed my advice, I will kick them and ban them if the continue still after that. I would record or take screenshots so that the admins are aware of the issue and what exactly is wrong. As soon as I believe the situation is under control in-game, I will PM a S-MOD+ on the forums or teamspeak telling them the issue.


How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - I have written 3 including the one that was accepted. The last one I wrote, I requested it be denied as I acknowledged I was not ready to handle the position. I am fully ready and capable now.


What is the date of the last application you submitted? - December 12, 2014


Do you have a working microphone? - I have a sufficient, good-quality mic, but I am getting a better, more professional mic this Christmas.


Are you able to record and upload videos? - Yes I currently use Bandicam and am able to record decent footage. Currently, I drop quite a few frames while recording but I am building my own computer that will be finished soon and will hopefully have a much better processor.


Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? - Yes I am fully aware how to use the staff commands. I have read this forum thread and recognize all commands and know how to use them. I know how to use:

/prune

/mute

/kick

and others.


Anything else we should know about you? - Firstly, for many of you who may know me on a personal level, you may know me as a fun, humorous person to be around, and this will not change if I receive JMOD. I have noticed many close friends of mine that have always been fun to play with, talk with, ect. have changed drastically because they feel they need to. I acknowledge that moderating requires stern and focused attention, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while doing it. Secondly, I wish to clear up this bad “aura” surrounding the WarZ community. The server has gotten much better in the last year or so but there are still bad vibes surrounding the game. I want to make it so it is a fun attracting community that people wish to play, and feel safe while playing. Finally, always feel free to come to me with any questions when you see me in teamspeak, forums, or in-game. I love taking and answering any questions you may have so ask away!
