For those of you who had your moderator applications rejected, I made this to inform you why that is okay.

First of all, you might be like: OMG MODS ARE POPULAR AND STAFF, but that's not the main point of being a moderator. So to begin this off, why did you make the application? Do you really want to support MPS? Or did you want the power? The moderators today have their reason and proved it in their applications. Todays moderators are very much different from ones that are rejected. They know what is needed for being a staff member along with what they must put in their applications. For those of you who were denied, most of you should know why you were denied ( unless you're an idiot like robrox ). So why am I explaning why people make applications? Because most people are very unaware of how hard a moderator must "work" for MPS and they just waltz right in and give us their pre-**** applications.

So this will explain why it's okay if you're not a mod. Being a staff member on MPS is like having a part time job with no pay almost. Some of you might already know how staff members are actually graded. Yes, staff members are graded on their performance of being a staff member. This involves: Activity on TS3, forums, and server, finding rule breakers, and even more crap. So for those of you who are denied, don't feel so bad about it. Now you know the responsibility of being a mod. Even ollie was demoted for being inactive for 2 weeks so that's an example of what it takes to becomes a mod. Also, if you make one single mistake, there are high chances that putty won't give you a second chance ( Unless you're Dwarfiest who is liked by Chaploo and he's a 13 year old Global mod.

For those of you that are moderators, you should try to keep up to your position because you only have colored names and more power than the average MPS player. Staff members are usually more popular and power so that's pretty what you mostly have.

So once again if your moderator application was denied, you don't have too feel so ashamed at yourself because: It's just an application for a Minecraft server, you wouldn't have to face huge responsibilities, and you can get noobs calling you names because you're not a staff member ( if you're one of those people who enjoys being insulted ). Anyways, this isn't one of my best threads posted because it may be messed up but I made this to inform rejected members how only the best qualified people can earn a Moderator title on MPS.

And for those of you who were rejected for being a New Member. We don't want you in our community.

I don't how people applying don't get how it is important the position of being moderator for these servers, the moderators of our community are very important and it's probably the hardest requirements for becoming mod on the multiplayer servers community

Ollie was not demoted. We are graded based in our activity, and if we are not active we get demoted. Ollie knew he wouldn't be able to be active in the following time so he resigned for some days to make sure he wouldn't be demoted in the next Mod Grading.

Gonna be honest... When you become a moderator its true, you do become popular obviously... However, players don't realise how much spam is directed towards you and keep up with the chat by kicking and answering...

    Ex: Whens the update?!?!
    Ex: This guys hacking...
    Ex: join my server
    Ex: **** **** **** *** ****
    Ex: You killed me nub
    Ex: This mod sucks!!
Ex: Can someone tell me how to shoot!

If you joined as you thought it would be fun and games as a mod, your dead wrong. Being a mod means you will lose possibly half-3/4 of your day moderating and the other 1/4-1/2 playing. Before becoming a mod, I gave great props out to mods. Trust me, chicken putty administrates the server, watches and reads most of the forums, goes into skype chat, and is a student. For those thinking about becoming a mod for not power, think about the above.

You think you players have it bad, but we almost have to turn playing into a profession.

Yeah, my kdr is dropping since I became mod, because we have to keep an eye on chat and other players, and we get killed. Being a mod is not an easy job. That's why most people get denied.

Mods are very important especially in MPS, this thread was made to explain how responsible a mod must be to earn his position and it is also why we have mods that do their job adequately. These mods already know the expectations of being a staff member so for the ones that were rejected, they don't know how much putty expects from them.

Ok, I agree with most of what you said Moko, except the part where you said we do not want new members in our community. I actually want new members, as long as they can be mature, and still have fun on the forums. It is just that they need to understand why moderator positions are very important. So I would request that you you delete that comment, or maybe edit it a little. This is your post, so do whatever you want with it.

Alright the new members part was kind of a joke but most of us are annoyed by new member applications appearing everyday aren't we? So you want me to delete that new members part?

Not paticularlly, new players have the best ideas. Think about it, they have played other things meaning they have ideas from those games which can be used. New people means new ideas which is good. New member applications are annoying however 30% of the time, players who made those apps don't give up and become active trying to gain the position trying to prove they are worthy.

How isn't Mokolee a mod yet?

Yes, moderating is a very important job. If you're denied, you can learn from your mistakes next time. My first one was denied because there isn't moderators on Team-Hg, my second was because I hit tab on my keyboard causing it to be posted not finished, and it had no poll.

I still don't know for sure why I was denied about a month and a 1/2 ago. It was an aweful app tho, but no one said "Denied for *whatever*."

Planning to make an application on December until I realized how much work is expected from a mod so I'm not making one.

If an app leaves the front page due to lack of posts or the point is recieved, generally it means no and will be denied in a few days after that point.
