Poll: Remove No-Soup HG

It attracts new players, but it sucks

 

But, but. I'm not good enough for soup hg. No-soup is the only one I play.

 

It doesn't blatantly "suck". It shows the faster side of Minecraft pvp which is focused more on small mistakes, as soup can be a cushion for not getting as many hits as you would like.

 

@BlueGuyARed how about completely removing it, have more soup servers?

eg: 4 soup, 2 no soup
5 soup, 3 no soup

 

Don't see the point. I've seen plenty of players on both.

 

Ok just make it 2 no-soup and 4 soup servers then.

 

That is not the main reason people are leaving.

1. MCPVP's death. Because MCPVP died, many people just stopped playing. I think the reason is MCPVP was a lot more lenient on the forums and maybe even in game. You should understand what I mean

2. Brawl's lack of concern for HG. Yes, totom's working on it now, but it may be too late. After MCPVP died and Brawl started HG again, many veterans decided to try HG, in the hope that HG had improved. Sadly, it was worse than MCPVP. Everything was broken, and a lot of things remained broken for the next 5 months or so. Crits, the main thing that gets everyone pissed, weren't fixed until October

What I think will get the veterans back is to host a QQ, a WELL-ORGANIZED QQ, one that takes the community's feedback. Show them that Brawl isn't completely useless at hosting HG, and hopefully they will return

 

I feel that many people will simply just stop playing if it is removed. I understand the concern that it is splitting up a player base, but I am sure that there are my people who are like me and play on the one that is going to open up next. The fact that No-soup has players (last night when I was streaming there were around 60-80 per server) shows that people do enjoy it. You cannot remove it simply because the soup servers are not getting as many people. By the same logic, you could remove the soup servers to get them to join no-soup, which certainly shouldn't take place.

Either way, I agree with MattM1PVP. We need something to actively attract players, old and new, rather than being passive. As you have stated, no-soup tends to attract newer players (probably because Souping and Hot-keying requires practice), so in removing it, there is a risk of stemming the flow of new players and you will have a split between veterans and new players (who will probably get fed up of dying constantly and give up).

 

I played mcpvp two years ago and came back expecting it be up, I quit for 2 years because mc got boring and then all of a sudden Im playing it again and the only reason that I am playing it is because of hunger games currently. I think a really big thing you can bring back would be the structures, no unique structures are an acttraction. also many of us HG veterans would really enjoy it if we could have our big 100+ player games back. I think that you guys should kill off one of the 6 servers and make it 1 no soup. The servers also need more character. There needs to be someone like BadBoyHalo that lit up games by just being in them... We need those beautiful streams in which the mods gave away ranks and did fun thing with us. It was so amazing. Now its just hop in an HG and try to win it and its getting a little bland. If this gets bland after another month I'd probably quit again. I was happy to see that this was running one day and now im playing minecraft hours a day.

Regardless of my little rant, this is whats important
-Bigger games will be achieved with less servers, it only makes sense, so cut keep 1 nosoup server for the new players that can transition into one of the 4 soup servers.
-Bring more character into the server through streams for HG and more videos from the server itself
-Sponsor a youtuber that is actually decent

DEFINITELY NOT!

 

Maybe if Brawl added a reward system they could make it so players get twice as much rewards on soup servers than no-soup to give new players a little push to learn how to soup.

 

I truly hope that if something is done that its not a very close vote. 70%+ votes to one or nothing should happen in my opinion. I think that this thread should also be a bit less bland and should be at the very least stickied. This doesn't seem very professional I hope this vote doesn't actually mean anything...

 

The split has been killing HG ever since it was created.

No-Soup brings in temporary players, soup keeps them for the long haul.

 

If no-soup is to be removed then there would have to be a system that would help new players figure out how to soup, like a tutorial or something.
