I used to play on McPVP's KitPVP server before Brawl acquired my beloved CTF. On that server, you started out with your inventory full of soup. You only get your hotbar full of soup on this server though. Soup can be earned by killing enemies, but sometimes you don't get back enough. If you get in a fight with a really good player and need all of your soup to be able to kill them, you only get 5 back.

It would be nice if you got back more soup based on how much damage you did to the enemy rather than just getting 5 every time.

I'm not asking for a full inv, but just for more soup rewarded depending on how much damage you deal to the enemy.

    Ok...Using your idea...

Say that we have Player 1, who is extremely good all around. This is the kind of guy you wouldn't want to ever PvP if you want to win.

Say we have Player 2, who is not so good at PvP but is very good at souping.

If Player 1 fights Player 2, Player 2 will use all of their soups because they are very good at souping. That means that Player 1 will have to hit Player 2 a lot of times for Player 2 to die, which means that Player 1 has done a lot of damage to Player 2.

Using your idea that the more damage is done, the more soups should be rewarded, Player 1 might not even be touched once, yet get more soups because they did a lot of damage to kill Player 2. They are being awarded extra soups for an easy fight.

I believe that the original idea should be tweaked a bit.

Instead of just considering how much damage Player 1 does to Player 2, there should be an amplifier of how many soups you get based on the ratio of: damage Player 2 did to Player 1 : Damage Player 1 did to Player 2.

So if Player 1 completely reks Player 2, landing a 20 hit combo and killing Player 2 without even being touched, the amount of damage Player 2 did to Player 1 would be 0. Damage Player 1 did to Player 2 would be 20 hits, or something like 60 hearts depending on what kits are being used.

The ration would be amount of damage Player 2 did to Player 1 : Damage Player 1 did to Player 2. Substituting our numbers into this we get: 0:100.

A ratio of 0:100 is just 0. If we just add 1, then our amplifier is 1. So Player 1 will not get any additional soups for completely reking Player 2.

Say the fight is really close. I'm going to set amount of damage Player 2 does to Player 1 as X, and then amount of damage Player 1 does to Player 2 as Y.

Player 1 barely kills Player 2 by doing 60 hearts of damage to Player 2. Player 2 does 57 hearts worth of damage to Player 1.

    So Y = 60, and X = 57.

Using our formula of damage Player 2 did to Player 1 / Damage Player 1 did to Player 2, or just X/Y, we have (57/60) + 1 = amplifier of # of soups Player 1 gets for barely killing Player 2.

(57/60) + 1 = 1.95, so we multiply 5 soups (which is what you normally get for a kill) by 1.95, which is really close to 10 soups. You'd automatically round up to 10, or round down to 9, depending on how hardcore you want to be, because having 0.5 of a soup doesn't exactly work.

So our formula for amplifier is: amplifier of soups received for kill = (damage Player 2 did to Player 1 / Damage Player 1 did to Player 2) + 1.

Player 1 would be the player that wins the fight. Player 2 would be the player that does not win the fight.

Before you ask, the above formula DOES NOT reward killstealers with extra soups. Killstealers would be given a very small ratio, and as such would not benefit with extra soups.

DISCLAIMER: The above formula may not work well. It may need tweaking.

Thanks for reading, whoever actually did read!

EDIT: This formula is intentionally set so that the amount of soups you can get does not exceed 10. Of course, it can be tweaked so that players can get more or less.
