    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

-Before anything is read, I need to let you know that I have asked Cuddled if I could reuse parts of my previous application. She has kindly replied saying that it was okay. I just want to clear that up before any accusing happens . I build many answers off my answers from my other application and I greatly improved them. Furthermore, the application is spaced out to make it easier to read and to make it more organized. It is not to make it look bigger.

Have you read over this thread?-
Yes I have many times to make sure I fully understand and meet the expectations listed.

    What is your in-game name?-
    My IGN is: Jaetpack1.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them.-
    Not at all!

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account?-
No one has access to my account. I don’t plan on ever letting anyone have any sort of access to my account.

    How old are you?-
I am 13 years old. My birthday is in February of 2002. Please don’t look at my age and get discouraged or worried about letting me have the Junior Moderator Rank. I am more mature than the average 13 year old and am mature enough for the position.

Edit: I turned 14 just a few days ago.

What time zone are you in?-
I am in EST (UTC -5:00).

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages?-
I am in third year Italian but I can't speak fluently. I understand the basics and can tell people basic things as to where something is or what something is. That's about as far as my Italian can take me. But, my native language is English and I can carry out full conversations with ease.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft?-
I have higher than average knowledge of Minecraft. I have been playing for three and a half years and with age comes knowledge. I am always learning new things about the game and as the new 1.9 update comes out, there will be lots of research and in-depth videos. I routinely watch Logdotzip and Sethbling's videos to learn about any new technical things.

In addition, I have a few test worlds to have fun and experiment with some interesting mechanics and any new things that come my way. I am the type of person who always likes to learn new things and I will not hesitate to look up anything new and interesting.

I got into Brawl a few years ago (to be exact, November 12, 2013) when I was searching the Minecraft Forums for servers to play on with my friend. We searched through every server and couldn't find one that was worthy of playing, until we found Brawl! It looked like a great server and I fell in love with it immediately. I started with Mc-Party but eventually migrated to full time Mc-War when it got a bit too boring for me. I prestiged extremely fast and started to become one of the more popular people in the community. I continued playing and took a six-month break in late 2014/early 2015. Now, Mc-war is my favorite server and I have become greatly attached to this wonderful server.

I generally know a lot about Mc-War. Even though I ask staff members about things a fair amount of times on Teamspeak, I know more than the average person. I have been playing for a while with a six or so month break in somewhere in there. When I start something new, I always want to learn as much about it as I can. I always want to know everything there is to know. I started to test certain things out like which guns are better for which maps and things like that. I was so obsessed with having the perfect gun for the perfect map, that I even created a Word document saying what each of the guns look like, their general fire rate, their accuracy hip-fired and scoped, their class (auto, shotgun, sniper, pistol, donor, other), and overall, if they were worth it. I also had a list of every map I've played and what guns worked best for them. I was a detail oriented kind of kid and wouldn't bare to leave anything out.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?-
To be honest, I have no experience. I do know the basics of moderating servers though. I know patience is really important to being a successful Junior Moderator and also just paying attention to what's happening in the chat and in game. Furthermore, I try to be as helpful as I can and I report all rule breakers that I spot. I try to be as effective as a normal player as I can be.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status?-
I will help and be nice to any new players coming to Brawl for the first time. My main goal is to make the server a great server and help make it onto people server lists by making it have a clean and enjoyable environment. I will do this by reporting rule breakers and keeping the chat to a nice state. From personal experience, I know it is always nice to come into a new server and there is no swearing or roughhousing in chat. I would love to create a safe environment for everyone, old and new. Also, I will always put helping others first and to keep other people as my priorities. I will reply to every question or request fully and make sure they are happy and fully satisfied with my response.

Have you ever used a hacked client before?-
I have downloaded a hacked client two or so years ago and used it on a rather popular server to toy around and see what there was to do. I deleted it a few months ago and there is no trace of it anywhere on my computer . They are useless and destroy one's Minecraft experience. Right now, I can tell there is no chance of me hacking anytime and I have absolutely no intention of using them anytime in the future on any server, especially Brawl.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why?-
I was banned from Mineplex about a year and a half ago for flying on a parkour race. Now, I see the damage it does to the community by not making it fun for the other players and ruining it for yourself (ban or temporary ban). It was a total mistake because I got banned and the people around me had unfair, and ruined games.

What do you consider your greatest strength?-
My greatest strength has to be acknowledging people and their strengths and weaknesses to help them where they need it. I feel that this strength is not very common among other people and it would help me help people grow from their weaknesses and be better or more likable in the game. All the time, people help me out with my weaknesses so I would love to give back to the community with this strength of mine.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?-
My greatest weakness has to be my sense of opinion. I either will die for making my opinion right or have no opinion at all. I wouldn't get into arguments about little things on the server, but on some topics that have to do with higher standings than basic server arguments. My weakness comes into play on the forums more than on any other platform (in game and TS3). I am working on this very hard and over time, it has gotten much better.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl?-
In game: I am highly active in game. I am on the server for about two and a half hours per day. This is my average and not a perfect figure. Some days, I might be able to play for three hours or more, while other days, I might only be able to play for 45 minutes. I cannot really give a perfect answer that will cover every day because of my ever-changing schedule as an eighth grader. I can say though that I am very active.

On the forums: I am highly active on the forums, but my count does not really say so. I created my account on the forums over a year ago but never used it except two other Junior Moderator applications. I am a bit of a forum dweller and check the forums frequently. I will reply to most threads and make sure my response is detailed and thorough. I have almost half as many positive ratings than I do posts. I believe I reply helpfully and in detail and I am ready for moderating the forums!

On Teamspeak: I am somewhat highly active on Teamspeak. This means me going on for two and a half hours or so per day. I have relatively recently started using TS3 but I could be counted as active if "active" was counted as daily activity, and not total connections. My ability to use Teamspeak greatly fluctuates because I cannot disturb the other people at my house. Sometimes and other times, I just cannot get on. Some days, I can get on for hours and hours, but other days, I can only get on for 30 minutes. I usually hang out on the Mc-War part but sometimes go to other areas or private channels if friends are on.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on?-
I am easily most active on Mc-War but will go on the other servers from time to time. I believe my current status on War can answer this for me. I am a level 60+ and I know that takes time and dedication to get to. I am also on War-Z occasionally, but that is not close to as often as War.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame?-
On a weekday, I can usually be on anywhere between 3:00 or so - 9:00 or so (not constantly) and can provide at least 45 minutes daily with very infrequent days where I can't achieve that amount of time. Most weekdays are the same for me, but you will never see me on from 7:30 – 2:30 because of school. On a good day, I can get on the server for three hours or so. Homework can get in the way of my time on the computer on Brawl but most of the time; I can be on anywhere in the 3:00 – 9:00 range and for more than two hours.

The brunt of my time playing is on the weekends. I honestly can't give a schedule for the weekend because my planning is totally a mess. On Saturdays, I usually can play for very long amounts of time because of going to Temple and seeing friends for a short period of the day. On Sunday, I have sports in the evening. I also usually hang out with friends for a small part of the day. This does not really hinder my playing time though, because it lasts an average of three hours. Overall, a normal weekend would grant me about four+ hours or so of in-game playing time.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game?-
Well, there are a large range of "illegal" things someone could be doing. The punishment really depends on the severity.

    If someone is:

Being rude in chat: I would /tell them to stop. If they are bullying someone, I would also /tell them to stop and /mute them for 5 minutes. If anything continues, I would /mute them for increasing amount of time. If it gets really bad (death threats, racial slurs, etc.) I would report them to a Senior Mod or Admin, take screenshots, and /kick them for an hour until further review has taken place.

Swearing excessively: I think some swearing is okay (if it is censored), however they should not go too far with it. What is punishable would be excessively swearing. This includes swearing more than three times at someone or just spamming the chat with swears. So, if they are excessively swearing, I would publicly tell them to stop. If they continue, I would /mute them for five minutes. If it continues, I would /mute them for an increasing amount of time up to 30 minutes. If it goes further, I would /mute them for an hour.

Raging: If someone is raging, I would tell them to calm down (after more than two or three messages) and then /mute them for five minutes if they persist. Usually, at this point, most people would have calmed down, but if they haven't, I would continue /mute ing them for higher and higher increments of time.

Hacking: Before jumping to conclusions, I would make sure they are actually hacking all while recording to have material for reporting. If they don't immediately stop, I would /kick them for an hour if it is blatant. Whether it is blatant or not, I would use "report.brawl.com" to report them to be reviewed by a Senior Mod or an Admin.

Advertising: I would use /prune to take out their messages immediately and /tell them what they're doing wrong. Then, I would report them right after while screenshotting the chat to show other Moderators. I would get them muted for a very long time and make sure they can't do it again.

Spamming: I would tell them to stop spamming publicly. If they persist to spam the chat, I would /tell them to stop it and /mute them for ten minutes. If they still spam, I would /kick them for higher and higher increments of time, going up by ten.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums?-
The general rule breaking isn't very bad so the punishment shouldn't be very harsh. Most of the things someone could do aren't very bad. So, if someone is:

Spamming posts or posting the same thread more than once: The punishment for this is pretty soft. I would just remove the duplicate posts and leave only one there. I would then PM the person explaining why I removed their posts and make sure they know what they did wrong. If it happens again, I would lock the thread and PM them, and give them warning points for Spam.

Raging or hating/bullying specific people or the server itself: I would PM them to stop and remove their thread. I would give them warning points to and contact a Senior Mod or Admin if it continues.

Posting any NSFW content: I would first PM the person to tell him that I would personally temp ban them for a short time (one or two days) and remove the person's post. I would also give warning points. If it continues, I would contact a Senior Mod or an Admin for further punishment.

Advertising themselves or other servers: I would tell them to take the thread down and tell them why. I would give warning points as well. If it doesn't go down, I would temp ban them and contact a Senior Mod or Admin.

Grave digging: Grave digging isn't that punishable and isn't that much of an intense rule. I would start by PM'ing the person to not grave dig and that it is against the rules. Next, I would post a message on the thread saying that this is grave digging. Lastly, I would lock the thread so no one else could post to it.

Posting a duplicate thread: I would delete the thread and PM the person why I did it.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3?-
I would first tell them what they are doing wrong and why it's against the rules. Then, I would punish them accordingly. I will jail anyone if they continue breaking the rules after all other actions taken. If someone is:

Mic spamming: I would tell them to stop with two warnings. If they continue after the warnings have been clearly given, I would mute them for five minutes. If it continues, I would move them to a different channel then kick them for 20 minutes and leave it at that.

Using a voice changer: I would tell them to stop and then mute them for 15 minutes. If they are still using a voice changer, I would just kick them for about 20 minutes then enforce "Push-to-Talk".

Playing music: I would tell them to stop and then mute them for ten minutes. If they continue, I would move them to a different channel. If they persist, I would have to kick them for 30 minutes.

Being all around annoying: This time, this is more of an opinionated thing and a lenient thing. If I feel enough people are annoyed by the person and they are being annoying for more than just a few seconds, I would warn them then move them to a different channel. If they come back, I would mute them then enforce "Push-to-Talk".

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue?-
I would first take note of what it is to tell a Senior Mod or Admin later to handle the situation better than I can. Secondly, I would tell people to stop using it privately and chat globally that it is not ok and people need to stop using the glitch. I would use /prune to clear any evidence of the glitch spreading so more people won't know about it. I know that many people won't listen because it is so beneficial to them and they would take the chance of being punished. I would tell people that the glitch is most definitely against the rules and it is a punishable violation of the rules. If anyone continues, I would /kick the people still using the glitch for an hour. Lastly, I would report the glitch on the forums after I have dealt with the players using it.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past?-
I have made two applications before.

What is the date of the last application you submitted?-
The last application I submitted was on November 28th, 2015.

Do you have a working microphone?-
I have a webcam that can record my face and my voice. It isn’t a professional microphone or anything like that, but it works for TS3 and recording my voice if needed.

Are you able to record and upload videos?-
I can, but they are limited to only 15 minutes and I can't edit them that well. If you're interested, it is "www.screencast-o-matic.com". I also have ShareX which is really good for recording short videos and taking screenshots. To add on, I have a Youtube channel just in case I need to upload any videos.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work?-
I have read these commands multiple times and understand all of the commands. I hope I won't need to use them, but I have them at the ready! There is also a forum post that explains all of the Junior Mod commands just in case I need a refresher at any point.

Anything else we should know about you?-
Hello! My name is Evan. I feel I would be a nice addition to the staff team. I am nice to everyone and treat everyone with respect. I am a hard-working individual and will not stop until problems are solved and requirements are met. Additionally, I try to be as friendly as possible to others and I will never judge people. This application is much more detailed than the last two I have made and I am completely ready to take on the responsibilities of being a Junior Moderator. I really enjoy helping people out and trying to be the best person I can be. I would love to be added to the team and hope to make the server a wonderful and fun place for everyone!

    Thank you,
    Jaetpack1

I believe you are ready. You are helpful very ingame, on ts3 and your posts on the forums are as good as you get. You are mature, But sometimes this slips. This is for the pure fact that we are good friends.
Saying this, I believe you are ready. I would love you to be accepted as we have recently lost a Mc-War mod. Good Luck!

I'm gonna skip all this fancy mod grading rubbish and give a proper answer. You 13 and extremely mature for your age so you can take criticism.

What I look for in an applicant is someone that stands out amongst all the others, someone that really wants to make a difference and will do whatever it takes to get there. This is you. Over the last few months you have transformed yourself from a random, somewhat known War player to one of the bigger War and forums community members. You have also become increasingly more helpful and on many occasions have done the duties of a Jmod without fault and your ability to take criticism and not get baited into flamewars is good. I don't care about forums activity as a deciding factor of my judgement but looking over your activity and from what I have observed on discussions etc your posts seem to have effort put into them and you don't seem to be post farming or tryharding at all.

I fully feel like promoting you would do only good things for Brawl as you excel in helping the community even as a normal member. +1

Hey Jaetpack, glad to finally see the application out there! Here's my opinion:
Ingame: I see you on consistently, and being very helpful. There are times where you answer people's questions before I can. +1
TeamSpeak: I've talked to you multiple times before, and you seem to be a very friendly and mature individual. +1
Forums: Almost all of the posts in the Mc-War section have your statement or opinion on them. You're quite active and helpful from what I've seen. +1
Overall: In my eyes, you meet all the requirements, and would be a great addition to the staff team! Good Luck!

You're very mature for your age, active in all 3 areas, helpful, respectful and overall a nice person to be around. I've spoken to you on multiple occasions and I can definitely say I see potential. It's a +1 from me. Good luck!
