Delete your .minecraft folder and re-try.

Did you extract your folders and place them in resourcepacks?

I do that. When it doesn't show up, I extract the pack into the resource folder then I check but still doesn't show up.

I do have a suspicion that this has something to do with the MACOX_ folder because the ones that work don't have a MACOX_ folder.

Ok. And have you actually right clicked on the folder after downloading it, and pressed extract? Once you do that it'll unzip the folder into the same location as normal. Then you go to your c:/users/<your name>/data/roaming/.Minecraft/resourcepacks. Drop the extracted files into there and then open your Minecraft client

Double click on the file. On Windows click on the folder that's not the MACOX_ folder. Drag it to your desk top. Drag it into your texture pack folder. If it doesn't work then it's probably a fake texture pack. If there is 2-5 things in the opposite folder of the MACOX_ folder then it's probably a rar file. If it's a rar file go to winrar's website. Go to your windows button on your keyboard or the Windows symbol in the bottom left on Windows 7. Right click on computer or control panel. Click properties. It should tell you which bit computer you have. (32 bit or 64 bit operating system). Download that version of winrar on winrar's website. Once it's downloaded extract the files inside the folder that's no the MACOX_ folder. If this doesn't work, I don't know what will.

All right, I think my texture packs are not fake, since they are from @Taite and @Ritzy Which I trust both.
Thank you all on this thread (even if I'm not the owner)

Never delete your .minecraft file. You need to unzip them and then drag them into "resourcepacks" folder. Try Winzip, or if you are on MAC use The Unarchiver.

@_Featherpaw_ Thanks a lot! I used your method of doing it and now a lot more packs are working for me. Some may not because it says it has a problem like @Ritzy Mix Pack but that's ok so Thanks!
