Story The virus

This story is a followup of @MR_EVIL_OVERLORD 's 'Valentine's day masacere'

My name is Lightwielder. My mission was compromised. My escape is all that mattered.
Again I kicked myself for being so stupid, of course overlord was prepared. I had lost my weapons and my armor. The room I was in was cold and quiet.
"I need to get some fresh air real quick" I said calmly, looking toward the two way mirror, "just for a moment, I spent two weeks infiltrating this place and going from that to a cell is a little shocking". I knew I had gotten the guard right in that soft emotional center they all had. The door opened and a man with an m16 strapped across his chest gestured to me. I rose, taking up position surrounded by two other guards. After a minute of walking, I prepared myself for the flurry of motion I was about to unleash, my hands clenching in the cuffs.
My leg shot outward, breaking the knee of the first guard. A quick backroll got me right beside the still standing guard, allowing me to duck under his first bullet and tackle him to the floor, head butting him into submission. One kick to the head dispatched the writhing second guard. "Excellent" I sighed as a group of security forces rounded the corner, pointing at me and readying their weapons. It was that moment I was able to worm the key off the fallen guard and de-magnetizing the locks. The guards opened up just as I was able to get one of the unconscious guards infront of me. A pistol found my hand, firing from out of behind the guard's body. The hostiles took cover, giving me enough time to get the m16 out and primed. I used it to suppress the hostiles until I could get a blast door between us. Checking the lines on the wall, my direction shifted to 'cell storage'.
Upon arrival, the two guards defending my goods dropped quickly. In a matter of minutes I was suited up, enough time to be detected and located by the facility systems. "Oh this is outstanding" I growled, lifting my dissaembler. I decided to move toward the lab, my objective.
A few small fights broke out in the halls, over quickly, and I was there. Vials labeled "Z-072" lined the walls and glowed softly. Whatever it was, I didn't like it. It was in this moment, a full security force broke in, guns blazing. I rolled behind a wall, ducking down as the bullets ripped through the air. The sound of shattering glass filled the room. My eyes closed for a second, focusing. I needed to fire back, now. "Eat lead" I muttered, lifting myself off the floor and into the spray of bullets. One pinged off my helmet, the other off my body armor. I took one shot, then ducked back down. A vial exploded infront of one of the soldiers, making him gasp and choke. The noises thenafter made my eyebrows furl in confusion. "What is.." I muttered. Suddenly, blaring sirens exploded with red light and sound. A groaning sound could be heard over it. A green shape lurched into a standing position, the security teams lying under it. They too slowly rose, looking at me with black, soulless eyes. I grit my teeth, breaking into a sprint for the exit. They tore after me, breaking more and more of the vials in the process. The air intake valves took in the air and began scrubbing it. Unfortunately, it failed. The air systems began spewing a airborne version of the Z-072 virus into the air, instantly killing anyone who didn't have a gas mask on. Anyone but me. The emergency contaminant chamber had a few in them, I was just barely able to shut the airlock, get the mask on, and open the external hatch. I stumbled out into the desert again, exhausted. The Black Hills command station spewed green fog into the air, the sound of what could only be described as zombies filled the air.
I ran to a jeep, and drove away.

 

Yeah I agree. Because of an odd issue with my computer I'm having to make these all on my mobile. Putting together appropriate spacing is difficult when I know the look and feel of the words are different for me compared to someone using the desktop view.
I totally agree though, thank you
