No servers available... again...

Ikr. I was just about to post a complaint when I saw this post.

 

Brawl has been going under maintenance lately and its probably doing the same with HG, Im not sure but this is possibly one cause. Just give them time, HG should be back up soon.

I know, they really need to put HG higher on their priority list. Brawl is going to lose a lot of players if they aren't careful.

 

I swear, #soon is schmockyyy's answer to when his classmates ask what the time is.

 

They will proabally be down until an hour before the competition. I would suggest going on kitpvp and practicing there while you are waiting.

 

We are aware of the current situation of the servers and are carrying a fight to keep them from crashing. We're not throwing away the community or whatever, and are doing our best to keep the servers smooth and running. Sorry for the inconveniences.

 

Is the problem in that the server's bulkiness of code (I heard HG was something like 400k lines of code) can't recompute with the attempted application of 1.9 updates? Several servers I play on had this issue; I think they recompressed the files.

 

If I remember correctly, brawl doesn't compress their code because compression takes away speed. plus, the 1.9 updates wouldn't do anything due to us not actually upgrading to 1.9 yet. None of our stuff is compatible, but they aren't comparable. Don't take my word for it though.

 

This explanation doesn't make much sense to me, code compression/size isn't a factor that plays into the final performance or the stability of the application. Various things would crash the servers: the database, the Airdrop kit, etc..

Anyhow, the database and the Airdrop kit have been fixed, so the constant crashes shouldn't happen anymore. Locked.
