What the Minecraft 1.9 update should have added.

Instead of the stupid cooldown, shields, and duel wielding the current 1.9 update added that ruined PVP, this is what 1.9 should have added that would have actually helped PVP.
1. Add some kind of placeable spikes. It would be a cool addition for traps and could be made out of sticks. If a player runs over them they get slowness 2 for 4 seconds and take damage. Simple yet effective.
2. Make leather more common. Seriously, when was the last time you made leather armor? Since Minecraft beta? Pretty much. It is easier and quicker to just mine some iron and make iron armor instead.
3. Add armor for wolves. Wolves die very easily and it would be nice if they had some armor they could use to increase their usefulness. They could even use the armor for horses that was added in the 1.6 update.
4. Add block-hitting back again. It was an easy-to-learn skill that made PVP more interesting and skillful.
5. Add boulders to Minecraft. A rollable trap would be interesting.
6. Make headshots with a bow do 1 heart more damage. Give an incentive to aim for the head.
7. Add the command /soupheal on/off. This could synchronize soup plugins and could get more people interested in soup PVP.
8. Add a crossbow that would do more damage but takes longer to reload.
