Block 36

    I searched up block 36 on forums and nothing came up so I made this thread.

    Block 36 is an invisible block that allows player to go through but still acts like a block, meaning that stuff can be placed on it. Useful if you want floating objects in the air.

    Now we're not allowed to use block 36 and why is that? The only alternative I can think of is block 166 but not as useful since it has an outline and players can't go past it.\

    We can't use it because it was causing obscene FPS lag for nearly everyone Dx You might remember this from maps such as Citidel (the newer version), Canadian Fort I, and Airlock.

    actually the real reason is that it is a block that no longer "exists" in 1.8 it is rather a clear block that has no hit box and therefore indestructible unless you know the location of it and use WE

    Floating objects (ex:signs), unless you can provide an alternative that also allow players to walk through.
    Block 166 won't allow players to go through because it's a "barrier".

    There aren't any Block 36s in Citadel I, although I don't understand the big deal, because I never experienced any FPS lag, even while facing tons of Block 36s.

    Anyway, quin already stated the actual eason:
    Just use //fast or Block 166 instead.

    You can't build CTF maps on Creative ;P

    Locked.
