Honestly there is not "set way". People could tell you all the ways they track and find bases and get OP from stealing, but none of them might work for you. Experiment. Try to create your own way. That's the best advice I can give.

 

Go on the server when it is laggy do you can see people's underground bases.

Hello again buddy. I'd like to say that there are not special tricks to find a base. However, I can give you some clues on how to find a base.

• Look the terrain carefully:
What I mean in this aspect is to search for some blocks that don't belong to a biome. Like sandstone at surface,a dirt block next to gravel, or even cobblestone at the surface.

• Mobs:
If you see many mobs together (Squeletons, Zombies, Creepers) it's because the chunk has been updated too many times, and it updates if a player is near there, so the next time you see a bunch of mobs together don't think twice and start digging down!

• Warping delay:
This hardly ever happens but you need to know it. As you have already noticed, whenever you want to warp you will have to wait 5/10/15 seconds depending on how far is a player from you. So you can use this as an advantage, if you ever have this delay without being near the spawn, then someone is near and you better watch out.

So those were some tips on how to find bases, I hope you found them useful.

 

Tracking is the best way to find raids, so don't give up! It will of course seem difficult at first, but try to get through it and practice practice practice! This will save you sooo much time in the long run, and will make you more safe, and help you to have more fun on the server (in my opinion). The best way to learn tracking imo is to just build a tracker and test it out. Find what best works for you. Being creative and finding your own short cuts will help you learn more.

 

So many hints. Boil it down to 3.

-High mob counts = bases nearby.
-I reraid bases. A lot. You won't get OP but you will get sellables.
-Wander the map. Look for odd things like blocks in the sky, holes from prior raids, etc. My two most OP raids are from bases just on the surface.
