Rule Change Needed, imo.

Currently, Sheriffs can shoot at Horses but not Players when some one runs from an Illegal Location.

    Sheriffs cannot shoot you as you Flee a rebel base (or other illegal location).
    BUT they CAN shoot your horse, to stop you.

    This leads to many people getting illegally shot by Sheriffs, accidentally.

    Rule change needs to be either:
    1) Sheriffs can shoot anyone who is actively fleeing from them, if the chase began inside or extremely close (50 blocks) to an Illegal location.

    2) Sheriffs cannot shoot Fleeing horses.

    Otherwise, we will all continue to get the daily headache of "You killed me illegally" and "You Liar, you weren't aiming for my horse".


    I support the First Suggested Change. Sheriffs should be able to shoot players who Flee from Illegal Locations.

    If you don't want to die attack and kill them, or accept it and pay a Ticket.

    Sheriffs will get a special horse soon to keep up with any normal horse. Hopefully that will solve this issue.

    What about when Sheriffs are lets say in a drug base, and one runs away on a horse. How long will it take to get to us after we call it?

    It actually will not solve the issue of horses being killed illegally and accidentally, but it should solve the problem of horses being killed illegally and intentionally, since any player who's horse is killed will be caught by the sheriff and forced to interact, leading to death for one of them or jail for the player.

    In fact, a sheriff being on a horse may make them MORE likely to miss and accidentally kill our horse instead of the player, since its harder to aim from a running horse.

    I still think the rule needs examining, Having it be Illegal to shoot a Horse but Legal to shoot the Rider under certain circumstances will continue to lead to frustration, the hitboxes are adjacent.

    This idea is too bizarre. What about players shooting sheriff or their horse but not them both? It's also a challenge. Honestly, player dead, has nothing to complain from the graveyard.

    Would the horse spawn instantly? Cause by the time the sheriff sees that a person spawned in a horse he'll have to wait (Depending where) around 60-150 seconds for a horse to spawn in. Wouldn't really give him a advantage cause by that time the person who got on his horse would be long gone.

    Now for what @Dsawemd said about sheriffs not being able to shoot fleeing horses and "accidently" killing people is this. I asked Lord_Roke about what would happen if a sheriff accidently killed a player while fleeing on a horse. His response was this "That would be a unfortunate death". Now in some sense it would be your fault as you took the risk to flee on your horse. It appears though that fleeing on your horse is just a risk factor of trying to get away and like a lot of other things its a "high risk/ high reward" scenario.

    Roke Shot me while I was fleeing on a horse, he Tp'd me back to where he shot me and gave me 2ok. Clearly there is some lack of consistency in the way this rule is being handled.

    I can agree. I think the rules should be clearly stated instead of being broad. There isn't even a rule stated that if you kill a sheriff and he comes back in 5 mins he can KOS, but they can. So I think they should either make it where it's "Your risk of getting on a horse to flee from a arrest" or make it where you can't shoot at peoples horses if they are fleeing on one. This would reduce the "accidental" deaths of trying to shoot and kill the horse and instead they hit the player.
