Possibly a Mage Bug

    When I use mage I have a difficult time using the damage spell or any spell in a crowded area because my teammates block the spells and they don't do anything.

    Probably intentional, so like the only thing you can do is separate from the mob and shoot from an angle

    So I guess defending the flag as mage when there are other defenders is going to be not very effective because like I said before, the teammates absorb the spells and they're rendered ineffective. :frowning:

    On the contrary, defending the flag with mage is extremely potent. Not only can you attack from a mid-range, you have enough damage output coupled with sustain and crowd control to duel nearly every class with a relative amount of ease against most rand33s. Mage's chase potential is ridiculously broken due to its ridiculous range with freeze spell, a massive knockback via lightning, and a 15 block range on its main attack.
    Although teammates block spells, that's essentially the same as teammates blocking sword hits, which is merely just the attack not being capable of rendering damage to the target. If you manage to lead the pack, of course you are going to be the main one dealing damage rather than your allies who are going to be blocked by your hitbox, which is what occurs when you attempt to use spells while in the midst of a mob. As I said above, just stand off to the side, there's no need to get into a brawl to defend. Spells being blocked isn't a bug(I'm not going by what Nom thinks but rather my own thoughts) because if it were able to pierce through allies while sword hits aren't, it would be extremely broken.
