Day/Night Cycle, Mob Spawning, and Other Possible Ideas

    Even though I've only started playing Wild West a few days ago, I have a few ideas that could make the game more interesting.

    - I'd really like to see a day and night cycle. This could make things more thrilling. Think about it, mining and drug harvesting at night. Scary!

    - We could allow mobs to spawn and drop items when killed. I already see cows every now and then, but they're probably just there for aesthetic reasons since they don't drop anything. Perhaps they should drop raw beef.

    - Thunderstorms could be added for the same reason as the day and night cycle, although this could cause lag.

    If I think of anything else I'll add it.

    I think this would give a whole new experience to wild west. +1, I would really like to see this added

    Oooo! Maybe you can at night add in packs of coyotes that can attack the players on sight. Make them move quite quickly so that you can't just easily sprint away. This would make not owning a gun quite a problem. Then at night in rebel bases the can be indian raids which would have about 5-15 indians that would spawn in the base. Then onto the day and night cycle. I would like having a long day and long night cycles as this would make it feel more natural.

    Yes, this would be an awesome addition to the server. Do you think that more light sources would need to be added to towns or rebel bases or not?

    Yes, if it's going to get dark, more lighting will need to be added to towns and rebel bases.

    I agree with the time cycle, but I have something even better for mob spawns.

    Indian camps have mobs, right? Why not add rebels (Skeletons) to the rebel bases? It would spook some newbies into starting out "legal" because they don't have the gear to fight Rebels, and give you something to do while processing.

    I don't want the mobs at might but rebels would be nice.

    As far as Mob Spawning/PvE, I'd like to see more variety.

    Indian Camps: Put some fast, melee mobs interspersed with the Archer Hordes that currently live there.

    I think some indians should spawn outside of their camps. You know, just "out and about".

    I quite like the day/night cycle idea. As Nezzr pointed out, this would add a whole new experience to WildWest.

    Natural hostile mob spawning at night I am not in agreement with. I think they would just get annoying and also mobs like zombies don't really fit in with the WildWest theme.

    However, saying this, it might be quite fun. And who knows, judging by how cow spawning works it might be quite fun to see randomly falling skeletons from the sky :smile:

    The wolf pack thing is quite a nice idea I think. Maybe they can be like Spiders - Hostile at night peaceful by day. The day night cycle could also mean you could add nighttime quests or certain events that happen at night (haven't thought too much about what these could be).

    They don't have to spawn frequently.
