So, I love making terrain and it bothers me when It takes 30 seconds to make a sphere with a 5x5 radius, or when it took 45 seconds to make a 4x4 (That was sad lol). So, here is a little idea.

First, Async mode will still be there. But, small will not be affected by it, or little to none.

Ex: You are making a hill, and you assign a shovel to a sphere 5x5. You paste it, and it instantly appears. You then take your ax and make a 10x10 square because you want to. async come into affect.

It probably will increase lag to an extent, but I can't imagine it causing crashed over and over like the recent updates.

Just a though I had while I was waiting for a half a million block WE.

You would be surprised by how much lag that small change would make. Even as of now with the restrictions, Build gets laggy often and crashes from time to time. Usually, world edit is faster when there aren't a lot of players online, so you could try joining a build server with the least amount of people as that could decrease the amount of time it'll take for your world edit to load. I don't think this is the best idea for build, but I do understand why this was suggested >.<

That's why restrictions should come back, and async should be gone.

There's more factors with w.e that causes lag. Worldedit's block placing can cause lag but what causes the most lag is the block and lighting updates it causes. That's why worldedits typically high above the air or over void cause so much fps drop. If worldedit did all it's placing in 1 single command, it could crash the server and your client.
