    Remaking this. Stay tuned.

Firstly, yeah, I'm unbanned. Promise I won't be a twat, this time. Also, I know there is a suggestion thread already, but an admin told me to post all ideas there "unless I have a huge thread planned".

Mojang's decided to actually enforce that EULA they made like 2 years ago, putting Brawl on a blocked list for 1.9.3, stopping people from joining, meaning the only chance Brawl will get through this is if Brawl changes their ranks to be purely cosmetic (or, at least, not giving a gameplay advantage). Full thread here.

This is gonna be 2 threads, since if its just 1, it'll be absolutely huge and I don't have the time to write up a thread bigger than the Bible when I have exams next week. This one is on how things you can currently pay money for could be unlocked in-game, instead of everyone getting everything. The other one is about cosmetic changes that can be added to donation ranks, and I'll be posting that either later today or tomorrow.

Before I begin, let people who donated before these changes keep the donations stuff they had. I donated for some CTF classes almost 4 years ago, and I don't think it'd make sense to remove them.

    Price Changes
First off, lifetime ELITE is $240, and there's no way you'll make a rank without changing gameplay worth that much. Donation ranks, in my opinion, should be reduced in price. The exact pricing doesn't matter to me, but the most I think a lifetime donation rank should be is $100. The ones I came up with are these:

    Lifetime VIP: $40.00
    Lifetime MVP: $60.00
    Lifetime ELITE: $100.00

    Monthly VIP: $5.00
    Monthly MVP: $10.00
    Monthly ELITE: $20.00

    3 month VIP: $15.00
    3 month MVP: $25.00
    3 month ELITE: $50.00

People are a lot more likely to donate for cheaper ranks, especially when they're not actually getting a gameplay advantage out of it. The only possible issue is people who bought the full priced ranks may be annoyed and want a refund, but I'm not sure if that many people will actually think that. I know I won't be annoyed, but that may be because I got this rank for $100.00 anyways, and thought the price needed to be reduced even when I did have the gameplay-changing benefits.

    CTF Classes
Onto server specific donations. Gonna begin with CTF, as this is the gamemode I'm most experienced in. As I said before, making every single class free all the time will just let all hell lose on the servers, so there's gonna need to be a way that new players don't have premium classes, but don't need to unlock them via donating.

Every game, you get XP from actions you did during that game. You can get XP by doing 7 things: capping, stealing, killing, healing players, healing the flag carrier, recovering and killing the flag carrier. The exact amount of XP I think people should get are:

    Capping: 100XP
    Stealing: 10XP
    Kills: 1XP
    Healing: 0.5XP per heart
Healing flag carrier: 2XP per heart
    Recovery: 10XP
    Killing flag carrier: 5XP

This means you'll mostly be getting XP from either capping or recovering, but can get some extra XP from killing people. Random killing is not effective for getting XP - 100 kills is the equivalent of 1 capture. You're not supposed to be able to get most classes just from random killing, since the whole point of CTF is to capture and defend a flag, not to pretend its a team deathmatch.

Classes can be unlocked by having a certain amount of XP. The more powerful a class is, the higher the amount XP needed to get should be. This means if a class gets nerfed or buffed, the XP value can change. When someone gets a class, their XP value isn't reset (so if I get 500XP and unlock necro, my XP value doesn't go back down to 0). The XP values I've thought of are as follows:

    Necro: 500XP
    Elf: 2,500XP
    Chemist: 5,000XP
    Mage: 15,000XP
    Engineer: 20,000XP
    Ninja: 35,000XP
    Pyro: 75,000XP
    Dwarf: 100,000XP

I'm probably an idiot and left out a class. If I did, just say so. Also, the XP amounts can be changed since its really all down to opinion - I think pyro is still one of the most powerful classes in the game but others may disagree.

Players who already have classes, or have a donation rank purchased before Mojang enforced the EULA, should get to keep these classes for free. If possible, convert stats to XP too (if someone has 50 caps in their stats, they should get 5,000XP from those caps, so they don't have to start from 0).

Freeday should also change now: on Fridays, the amount of XP you get is doubled. The whole point of freeday used to be to let new players try out classes to encourage them to donate, which can no longer be the case.

    HG kits:
Very, very similar system to CTF classes; actually one of the first ideas I posted on McPvP back at the start of 2013. Instead of unlocking kits with XP, you buy them with coins. The only way you can unlock coins is by winning games, where you get 10 coins per win. Most kits are $2.50 - those kits cost 250 coins (25 wins). 3 of the kits are currently on $2.00 due to a sale - these kits cost 200 coins (20 wins) until they get put up to $2.50. 4 retired kits are on $1.50 - these kits cost $1.50 coins.

The amount of coins each kit costs can change depending on how good they are. After the kit reworks, I've hardly played HG so I don't know how balanced all the kits are, so I just went with $1 = 100 coins. Amounts could change, though.

    Wild West Horses:
I know that out in the wild, wild west, there used to be stables near the OP/bugged drug dealers. Now these drug dealers are normal, but the stables near them still stand. These stables should be special - they sell premium horses. You make a deal with the "premium stable manager" (which can be tracked in the navigator separately from normal stable managers) and you get permanent access to a premium horse. I'd say about 100,000 gold for permanent access to 1 premium horse (so 300,000 for all 3) would be about right, but I've hardly played since the reset and the economy changes so it could be too much.

The new premium horses work exactly like the old ones - when the horse dies, you can get it back in a few hours or so. If a premium horse dies with something in its inventory, the items are dropped on the ground.

    War Perks:
Gonna keep this bit short since I have almost no experience with war. There's 2 options that I see:
    • Don't accept donations for war until war 2.0 is released
    • Similar idea to HG's
I'm not sure how close war 4.0 is to being finished, but with Totom working on it, I shouldn't think it'll be too far away. If it is close, might as well just implement the new way things are going to work there when it gets released. No-one really knows what the donations would've been, and I certainly don't, so I can't really suggest any changes.

If War 2.0 is a while away, credits that you'd usually spend on guns should also be able to be spent on premium stuff. I don't know exactly how much credits everything should cost since I never play War.

Instead of using XP to redeem a kit permanently, use it to redeem a kit for a few days/weeks, that way, it still encourages people to buy it, while not disadvantaging non-paying players

The whole point of this is to remove donating for classes. Brawl's recently been added to a "blacklist", meaning any 1.9.3 clients won't be able to join Brawl. Brawl needs to comply with the EULA's only cosmetic donations rule if they stand a chance living through this.

the EULA is "paying people don't get a different playing experience from non-paying people". Non-paying people don't get a different experience, they get the same. Just that they have to work harder for it

I'm going to agree with Mattyz_ here. I don't think that if they only get it for a while before buying it again is a direct violation of the EULA.

We can't charge people real money for kits/classes/etc. with EULA. Cosmetics only.

In HG they should add Experience.
    +1 per kill
    +5 per win

Kits are put into III or IV tiers which they are classified as prices.
    Example
Stomper would be a IV or Hades would be I

Ooooooor. We don't do this yet until the admins have figured out what they want to do about it. We are still mostly on 1.8 so I see no problem with this right now.

because what is wrong with thinking forward? do you really think this server will stay on 1.8 if 1.10 snapshots are here within a month??

The whole reason I posted this thread was because an admin made another thread asking for ideas for donation ranks. Also, if no-one can join in the latest version of Minecraft, Brawl is screwed.

Possibly. It depends on whether the staff and the community in general wishes to stay on 1.8 to avoid the 1.9 combat update.

Have you put in any time looking at threads, looking online and such? Don't think so, but a lot of threads have been made about 1.9, there are enough ways to remove 1.9 combat.. please. :\

At the moment, no players on the latest version of Minecraft can join Brawl. Unless you want the majority of new players be unable to join Brawl, something has to be done.
