Brawl Junior Moderator Application: I realize my past applications were for MC-War. However, in the past few months I have started to play War less and less while becoming more active on Wild West. So I have decided to apply for Wild West instead of MC-War.

Have you read over this thread? - Yes, I have. I have read this thread many times and know fully well what is expected of me as a staff member if I get accepted. I have read this thread numerous times when making previous applications as well.

What is your in-game name? - My in-game name is amazingallen234. It has never been changed and probably won't ever be changed.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - As previously stated, my in-game name has never changed.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - No. My minecraft account and its information are known only to me, and I have never let anyone use my minecraft account. My sister used to play on this account back in 2012 before she had her own account, however I have since changed the password and she no longer has access to my account.

How old are you? - I am 16 years old (Born April 7, 2000)

What time zone are you in? - I live in the Eastern Standard Time zone (EST)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - Yes and no. This school year I have been studying Latin as I need it for my career that I wish to pursue later in life. However, I have not completely mastered the language and my Latin course this year only covered basic Latin phases and words.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -


As you can see, I have had Minecraft for almost 4 years. When I first got interested in Minecraft, it was because one of my friends was wearing a Halloween costume based on Minecraft. I was curious and asked what his costume was. He said it was from a game called Minecraft. When I got home, I googled it and I watched some videos and was instantly hooked. I wanted it for Christmas so badly. My dad decided to make it an early Christmas gift and I made a minecraft account and have since played numerous hours of both Single Player and Multiplayer.

I first played on Brawl starting around 2013 or 2014. I played Minecraft Party which I enjoyed a lot due to it being based off of Mario Party. I had no idea that Brawl had other gamemodes to offer. Eventually, I discovered the hub and its other gamemodes. In the middle of summer in 2015 I started playing on War. I have made many friends on MC-War but I have since moved on to Wild West which I have also made many friends on.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I do not have any prior moderating experience. However, I do possess knowledge of most minecraft commands commonly used by staff on servers, and I tend to learn very quickly.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - Brawl is a big server with its community growing every day. As such, the server needs more and more staff to keep things in order to keep hackers and rule breakers from getting free reign on the server. Since a lot of staff also live in different time zones it can be very difficult to catch and ban hackers at certain times of the day.

If I am accepted as a Junior Moderator, I will do the best I can to make every player's experience on Brawl the best it can be. I can accomplish that by recording hackers and rule breakers. However, since Junior Moderators are subordinate to other staff ranks, they do not have the power to ban. Even though I won't have the power to ban, I can still report hackers with proof and report some players to higher up staff members if needed.

I also really care for the community of the server. Wild West's community is slowly starting to become like the community from WarZ. I don't want that. WarZ's community has become toxic to the point where players quit due to the sheer toxicity of its players. Wild West will start down that road if there aren't enough moderators for Wild West to keep the community in check.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - No, I have never used a hacked client. It goes against server rules and makes other player's experience on the server more frustrating since players can only do /report or record the hacker if they have recording software. Hacked clients also give the hacker advantages against other players making the game unfair. I haven't ever used a hacked client and don't ever plan to.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - Yes, I have. I have been banned from a prison server I loved back when I was an immature 12 year old. I remember I was arguing with a moderator since they weren't acting how a moderator should. The argument lasted a long time until I was finally banned without a clear reason. I appealed but it was never accepted. I learned my lesson from that incident and I have never been banned on another server since.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I believe my greatest strength is my willingness to dedicate myself to helping the community and enforce the rules of the server to give players a great experience on their favorite gamemodes. One of my other great strengths is my ability to learn quickly and also quickly apply what I have learned.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - People can annoy/anger other people. Some are very patient while others have a short temper and can get annoyed pretty quickly. I am in the middle of that although I lean more toward the right. With most people, they tend to not annoy me and I never lose my temper with them. Others can really push my buttons though, and sometimes I can get very annoyed with them.

During my time with Brawl, not very many people have brought me to that point. Even if they do, I never express it in chat and try to be mature in that situation so as not to cause a huge argument with the other player.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? - Very active. I try to play Wild West at least 1 hour every, however I am not always able to be on due to the fact that things can happen that make me not able to play for the day. I am homeschooled, which does give me more time to dedicate to Brawl and I am willing to sacrifice a portion of my day as often as I can to fulfill my duties if I am accepted.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? - Wild West. I have been active on MC-War in the past, but I do not play War much anymore since Wild West has always appealed to me more then War did. I am also sheriff on Wild West, which also requires me to dedicate time to fulfill those duties as well.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? - As stated, I am homeschooled. My schedule can fluctuate and sometimes I will not be done with my work until the afternoon. The evening is usually when I am most active. However, during the evening I may not always be able to go on teamspeak when my dad is on the night shift as he takes a nap during the evening before heading to work.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? - There are many rules on Brawl to cover so I will try to go over every one in detail

Hacking - If I catch a hacker I am always able to quickly record them as I have FRAPS open when I play Minecraft. However, I am not the best at catching hackers as I have never hacked and therefore do not know how to best spot them. But If I do catch a hacker, I will record proof and then report the player allowing staff to look it over and decide on whether to ban the player or not.

Glitching - If I find a player glitching I will tell the player in a PM that what they are doing is against the rules. I will then give a warning, allowing them some time to stop. If they continue, I will kick them. If they continue to do it even after being kicked, the time will increase and might end up with a higher staff member getting involved to help fix the problem.

Disrespect Towards Player/Staff: If a player is being disrespectful I will kindly ask them in chat to stop. If they continue, they will get a warning. If they still continue, they will be muted for 10 minutes.

Spamming: If a player is spamming the chat I will send them either a PM or ask them in chat telling them to stop spamming. If they continue, they will be muted for 10 minutes and I might prune the chat if the spamming was very excessive.

Excessive Use of Vulgar Language/Bypassing Filter: There is a chat filter in place for a reason, but players tend to try and bypass the filter anyway. If they bypass the filter I will ask them to stop. If they continue it will result in a mute for around 5 to 10 minutes.

For excessive use of vulgar language (swears, racial slurs, etc) they will be told to stop. If they continue they will get a mute. The duration of the mute depends on the severity.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -

18+ Content: Whether it be a forums avatar, a signature, or a post if any player has 18+ content on the forums they will be told to change the content to something appropriate. If they refuse to comply, they will be reported to a higher staff member.

Flaming: Flaming brings the thread off topic and don't help the thread either. If two or more users are flaming I will kindly ask them to stop in a forum post. If they continue they thread will be locked.

Off-Topic: If a thread is off topic it will be moved to the Off-Topic forum. If users are posting off topic posts I will remind them to remain on topic and that the thread might be locked if they continue.

Grave-Digging: If someone posts on a thread that has not been posted on for over 30 days or has lived its purpose the thread will be locked with a reminder to not grave dig threads.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -

18+ Content: The user will be asked to change the content to something appropriate. If they don't, they will be reported to a higher staff member.

Mic Spam/Playing Music In Non-Music Channel: If someone keeps spamming their mic or is playing music in a non-music channel I will move them to the Private Support channel and remind them that it is against the rules for the teamspeak. They can then return to the channel, but if they resume mic spamming or playing music, they will be muted for a period of time.

Excessive Swearing: People swear and most of the time a little language is fine. However, excessive language is not needed. If they swear excessively, they will be told to stop. If they continue, they will be muted.

Loud Background Noise: If a player has loud background noise they will be told to use Push-to-Talk. If they don't, they will either be muted or they might be changed to Force Push-to-Talk.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? - If this situation occurs, I will tell everyone who knows to refrain from mentioning to anyone. I will report the situation to any staff online and work together with them to contact the admins and try to handle the situation until the admins come on to fix the problem. If no staff are in game I will PM the admins and higher staff on the forums and try to keep the situation under control until admins are able to come online.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - Three. All of them were for MC-War.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - My last staff application was submitted on December 10th, 2015.

Do you have a working microphone? - Yes, I do. I use this mic to communicate with others on teamspeak and try to be on there every day. I do have the bad habit of going to private channels to talk with friends but I try my best to be in public channels as well.

Are you able to record and upload videos? - Yes, I am. I have FRAPS to record and I have a Youtube account to upload the video.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? - Yes. I have read the thread explaining the general commands staff get in game depending on their staff rank. I know how /mute and /kick work as well as the other commands even if Junior Moderators can't use them.

Anything else we should know about you? - I don't really have anything else to add. But I do care for the Wild West community and would hate to see it become like WarZ with an extremely toxic community.
