Looks amazing dude, I'd recommend just sticking with the style, make little shacks using the same blocks and stuff.

You could copy, rotate and paste what you've already got, build something in-between then slightly rebalance the insides to make it suitable for a CTF game :stuck_out_tongue:

Don't worry about SoCool, he has two missions. To drink milk, and cap flags.

He also has a 3rd mission, to make CTF maps.

Nice start on your build! I really like how the castle is blended with the terrain. Since you asked for a bit of pointers on improvements/ideas, here's some things to add/work on. The house size was decent, so I'd keep it the same if you keep building (since you asked).

You mentioned you wanted to add shops. Personally, what I would do is add a whole bunch of market stalls selling all types of miscellaneous items found in the medieval era, such as fish, food, weapons, iron, etc.

I'd put the shopping center right here:

The way I would make them is to just have some type of wood supporting a wool roof or covering. Here is a bit more clarification on what I mean (look at top row).

The detail part of the map looks good, and I like the trees. One thing you definitely can work on is terrain.

Right now, it seems a bit bland in places. The first thing you could do is add dirt and it's similar variants (ex: coarse dirt) below the stone. You could also add blocks such as cyan clay or even cobblestone to mix in with the stone in your terrain. Here's an example of what I mean, on your current mountain:

Then, I'd your hills a bit more natural. Typically, hills/mountains don't just spring up unnaturally, but in some parts of the map, it seems like they do. Try doing these terrain improvements by hand, as worldedit can mess with what you currently have built and won't provide as good of a result. This doesn't always involve fixing terrain; adding houses was a perfect fix to the jaggedness. Here's one of the areas that looks sharp and unnatural as a hill, just so you know what to look for:

Finally, you should detail your ground with grass and other blocks. Try looking at adding patches of gravel, podzol, or anything to break the monotone grass. One thing you shouldn't do is just spam bonemeal. See where each thing fits in, as flowers don't fit everywhere, and grass doesn't either. The sandy beach you're making is a good start. Basically, make the ground a bit less boring, and add some liveliness to it.

Overall, you have a really nice start to this. Good luck with the rest of your project

Try adding a lava river or a crocodile lake surrounding it and have a bridge, that will help.
