There are a lot of experienced players on this server who are rather wealthy and have high level gear. This can be overwhelming to beginners.
For beginners, making a lot of money isn't easy or fast. Drug processing is by no means recommended for them. Mining takes a long time, and the gems don't sell as much as drugs. Also, mining can almost be as dangerous as drug processing. There's always this chance some decked out brute storms into the mine and blows the heads off of the beginners with a T-Gewehr. This kind of stuff can turn players away from Wild West.
I know it's "the Wild West", but couldn't we come up with faster, safer ways to make money?

Make mines No-Pvp zones or buff the prices and processing time

I've always thought we should make at least one mine a safe zone, maybe Decker.

Make all the mines safezones, but there should be some challlenges to get the ores like traps, earthquakes, lava and etc.

    How about a compromise?

Some mines have iron coal and gold ore, but don't have PvP enabled. These are “resource" mines.

The other mines contain great amounts of diamond and emeralds, but have PvP enabled.

Play it safe but make money slowly, or take the risk in hopes of the reward.

To be honest, I am not concerned. Mining is not that difficult and to be honest, all hunters out there rarely go to mines unless bandit tracker is taking you there. The whole point of drugs is to have the risk of being killed or arrested so it is not meant to be the easiest thing

This game is going to be hard, so matter what. Bu maybe the wood chopping (#Soon it already) will be PvP free.

I do agree that the proc. time of Ores isn't fast enough.

No need to change the mines, except buffing the ore prices. What we really need are tree farms, which seems to be an already approved idea for a PvP Safe way of making money.

But the problem is if you buff the ores price too much up all the other Guys with full diamond and illegal weapons are going to the mine. So i think Glock_Fanatic Has the best idea

New players do not have access to the Premium horses, which make Wild West much much easier.

When I started out, I always mined and rarely found any players. Once I got myself free indian armour and a bow from indian camps, no-one that went to mines were a problem. I don't like the idea of mining being a non-PvP zone, but I think the bounty for becoming rogue should be increased.

Also, I think players should start being nicer to newbies. If someone comes to wildgrass base and wants to process, and they have starter gear, you and your team of 5 full diamonds shouldn't kill them, unless they attack you. They won't do any harm.

First thing I did joining Wild West was opening Treasure Chests and looting them. Then killed a guy with unprocessed tobacco and started to process. Once I lost the whole inventory, after three days I found out myself that I could store drugs in horses. Business went fast, I could easily make dia armor but main problems were sheriffs that kept arresting me all the time I was found in Rebel Bases, e.g. losing 18 stacks of processed poppy twice a row due to them. Sheriffs were annoying.

After the last reset, I don't know how it was for beginners, but stuff became more expensive and drugs were sold on lower prices. As I gained much experience, I did it safe way. I robbed a lot of conductors, I reached as much bounty as I could and after I got arrested, I mined out my bounty then bought blunderbuss for money I earned and went mining until I used up my diamond pickaxe, killed 7 rogues and then drugs. I enjoyed doing drugs with sheriffs online because I knew a few tricks and wasn't getting caught that easily.

I think all beginners may read that second paragraph and learn from that how to safely earn money. About sheriffs: read handbook and find loopholes. :grinning:

how about make ores more expensive? they sell way less than drugs, if they do drugs, they die and lose everything, we need to keep the noobs playing for the server to make the server grow, or the noobs will rage quit and never come back again, an inventory of ores sell about 5k, a decent gun + ammo = 6k, pretty much thats all they got, if they lose it, they will cry

If you go mining after a reboot, particularly in Rosebud or Cordero, and mine only gold, diamond, and emerald, you can get over 10k of ore in your inventory.

That is exactly the problem - There are not enough ways to make money, and really the only 2 ways are processing and mining (except robbing conductors, but after you do this a few times and realise the bounty isn't worth it, you rarely ever do it again. Processing ores is very dangerous as most of the experienced people go here, or the new people go there and die soon after they arrive. And since after most people watch the tutoil and discover mining is legal, most pople go thee. Thats when stat hunters like @JokerDoflamingo and @Dsawemd (don't deny it) constantly go and get all their kills. Mines need to be safe, and there needs to be more ways to make money.

Lumber harvesting is a planned feature. I just don't know when it will be implemented.
