    Wow 25 years that shows you cant play online. The kid got mad because he was losing at battlefield

    What do you guys think he will be 40 when he gets out : (

    Seems quite fair to me. I don't know anyone who's ever had someone SWAT them, but it seems like such a horrible thing to do over a game.

    Do you have a source for that?
    Swatting should definitely be punished, but unless someone got hurt/killed during the SWAT raid, 25 years seem way too extreme, especially if it is a child.

    I think the punishment is so extreme so it deters other people from doing it. If someone knew they could get 25 years for doing something like this, they're likely not to do it (in most situations, at least).

    It doesn't work that way, same punishment for the same crime. And sending everyone who made a false SWAT call to jail for 25 years is really unrealistic. You sometimes get a shorter sentence for murder and similar crimes.

    It depends, and swatting imo you should get 25yrs or even more, You're indangering lives of other people. So In my opin you should get that, or way worse since if something does happen it's your fault no one elses that they were harmed for no reason but a "kid who was mad online"

    SWATing is serious...

    The time, resources, and money for all those things. I would have charged for all associated costs.

    25 years seems harsh...but without reading the article, knowing the situation, or knowing the background of the person involved it is difficult to comment.

    Yes it was not real and after seeing 25 years most would want to tell people sorry about that, but what @IamDeathwing said you are wasting money and time and you are putting people's lives in Danger. What if the cops got into the house without the person not knowing, and in America you know most of them have guns, and kill a cop and the other cops get them

    This is a really big issue and action must be taken against the 25 years? No but doing some time in jail? What do you guys think?

    A child receives a 25 year old sentence for swatting? But when we have manslaughter people receive sentences of less than 30 years? Seems quiet stupid, on our penal system.
