Your Opinion on Sheriffs

Sheriff's are too op....that is for sure.

People need to work together to defeat a Sheriff.

 

The main thing that has to be changed with sheriffs so players don't rage on us is respawn time. I believe that if a sheriff has been killed, this sheriff has to wait 90 seconds before he / she can access the NPC in the sheriff hq that teleports you to the sheriff stations in all towns. In these 90 seconds, a sheriff can loot chests in the hq and maybe even buy kevlar so they can go back geared up when the timer is over.

 

Here's my answer and opinion of those topics.

1. Sheriff are too op
We sheriffs are virtually on par with full diamond players with illegal guns.

2. we should remove Sheriffs
If you want to play a game without sheriffs, go play WarZ.

3. I (as in you) have seen a Sheriff do things/acts that violate the Sheriff Hand Book
I myself have abused twice. The first time was a complete misreading of the inspection. I thought it said they had illegal weapons, but it didn't. I paid them for compensation.
The second time wasn't that much of a mistake. It was after a reboot. I handcuffed @Miraculate the very moment he logged on. Not giving him a chance to react to my presence. I guess you could say I was camping the rebel base he was in, even though I was there for maybe a minute. I offered him money, but he said it was alright.

4. The Sheriff Hand book needs to be improved
What kind of improvements? The rules are perfectly clear. Even the one about sheriffs constantly returning after you kill them. @Lord_Roke has said that one is perfectly fine.

5. What is the goal of the Wild West
To make money.

6. Players do not understand the importance of Sheriffs
The Wild West is nothing without us.

7. Its hard to do your job when no one likes you or appreciates your effort
That's why @TwisterPvP quit being sheriff. He couldn't take the hate. Plus, he wanted to maintain being one of the richest players.

8. We sheriff get paid little
As you saw in number 7, this is one of reasons @TwisterPvP quit being sheriff. 2g for drugs and 200g for illegal weapons is not a lot of money. Half the time, arrestees aren't carrying illegal items. We could make more money mining. Sometimes, if we're lucky, a player could be carrying a boatload of illegal items. I once got over 12,000g of illegal items off of mechanic.

Yes and no. Potential OP things: The ability to keep coming back after death. Their ability to get places very quickly. Potential UP things: Their guns, gear, handcuffs, and the fact that they can't shoot first.

I don't think that sheriffs should ever be entirely removed, but instead changed. There is a lot that needs to change. I 2 minute restriction from respawning in the sheriff station nearest a sheriff's death point is needed. The highest rogue time should be lowered to 3.5 minutes. Rogue trackers shouldn't track players in towns either. Finally, sheriff heads should be worth around 10k to give players a reason to kill them. Sheriffs make the server too difficult as is, but removing them entirely would remove a great deal of fighting, which is fun for both sides.

I've seen this twice via videos, but both times the sheriff was demoted.

Yes, but not in the way you would think. I don't think many new protocols are needed as of now, but rather clarifications for certain protocols. For example, what should a sheriff do if he sees a player attacking or killing another player's horse?

1. Make money. 2. Get gear. 3. Fight and accumulate more gear.

They really don't. I know there are issues with sheriffs, but so much would be lacking from the server if there were no sheriffs at all. As I said before, the system should be changed, not removed.

Not for me personally. I was a mod a while back, so you quickly learn to dismiss this feeling.

Once again, yes and no. Technically, we make less money than bandits, yet it's easier for us to make money. It all depends on how many illegal items a player has when we inspect them. Sometimes we get nothing, sometimes we get 10k on a single player.

The last time I was killed by a sheriff was like 3 months ago op
That might just be because I mine all day xD xD
But really, there is a lot of them now, so for people who do drugs it may be time to switch to mining

 

I quit because it was boring

 

I'm still rooting for introducing the Super Villain to battle the Sheriff..

 

How do I react?
1 sheriff: stop AFKing at processors
2+ sheriffs: stop killing random sheriffs they'll be like hydra - kill one will be back two
4+ sheriffs: that's fine no rogues around
7+ sheriffs: that's awesome, nobody else is processing, all for me!

 

1. I personally think there could be things to changed but I don't think they are op. Now I know this might sound a little rich since I became a sheriff but I have been playing a while before and they are not impossible. Not only that but I think our guns have been buffed.
2. Removing sheriffs would make the game boring. It would remove the whole concept of legal/illegal things and leave things like mining redundant.

normally there will be 2+ sheriffs or no sheriffs, which that needs a change, when there is one sheriff online, normally he is too "weak" to arrest OP people or OP teams, so he thinks - cant do anything, might as well just play something else, when there is 2-3 online, they can do some serious damage to OP people but not so much damage to OP teams, when there is 5-7 sheriffs online, well, all the OP people and OP teams should just play a new game, i think the sheriff numbers are too high, accept highly skilled sheriffs and denied/demote the "noob" sheriffs will be a good idea, if sheriffs have no fighting skill, all they does is "ez one slap" then how are they sheriffs? i know some people out there kill sheriffs for fun, but i just pay to hunt

i think the rules right now is fine, just need a bit more balanced

 

I see what you mean, but there are only a few skilled players I see that could qualify for sheriff.
