Unanswered Sheriff Questions

    You kill someone, but someone else gets to the body and they're looting it. What should you do? Can you search them?

    You see in the chat someone is inhaling drugs. Should you search them even when they are not in an illegal location?

    For the first question, if they're in a rebel base and loot the body, I'm pretty sure you should check them immediately, as they could have removed illegal items from the body. They must be in an illegal location though.

    if a kid shot you with a illegal gun, you killed him, some random looting the body, that means that random got the stuff, you search him of course, if you saw someone inhales wild grass, you know that guy got wild grass, search him then, how do you not know?

    Verlyn searches me when I inhale drugs, and I think it's the right thing to do, heck, they just inhaled drugs right in front of someone who's sole purpose is to stop illegal activity

    I search you because I see you inhale the drug. I physically see you hold the drug in front of me, and that is arrestable. :3 What we are talking about is seeing "player x has inhailed wildgrass" in chat and then physically seeing him twenty seconds later.

    Something I have always wondered: If someone is being chased by a sheriff, and the two are on horses, the sheriff is allowed to shoot the persons horse regardless of whether they attacked the sheriff or not, but if someone is riding on someone else's horse who did nothing illegal, what would the sheriff do? :cigar:

    The sheriff wouldn't know that's someone else's horse. So, they would shoot it anyway.

    If they are in an illegal location, you can.
    Hasn't been covered by the current protocol yet, so don't search them until it is. :v
    ^This and Roke actually answered this before saying that you can still shoot the horse.

    Give what stuff back they had that you could give, and refund them in gold for the illegals they had, also bailing them would be the way to go

    Nah. Don't give them money for their illegals. They were screwed anyway, if the sheriff had aimed better.

    Don't you mean, They were going to get arrested anyway?
    I think if we accidentally shot and killed them, it would turn out better for them, because we would give them their legal stuff back. If we ticketed them, they would lose everything.

    Although, that doesn't mean we should accidentally shoot them more often. :stuck_out_tongue:
