    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread? -
    Yes, multiple times.

What is your in-game name? -
    kevshadowslayer

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. -
    No.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? -
I'm the only one who should have access to my Minecraft account.

    How old are you? -
I'm 16 years old, and my birthday is June 16, 2000.

What time zone are you in? -
    EST (I live in Pennsylvania)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
I'm fluent in English, and after taking 3 semesters of Mandarin Chinese, I am able to understand some words and phrases, but I am no where close to fluent in Chinese.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
Beginning - I downloaded Minecraft in 2012, right when 1.4.6 was coming out. I then began to play Minecraft whenever I could and became hopelessly addicted. From that, I am aware of many of the quirks and oddities within Minecraft, however, I stopped paying attention to the updates after the Combat Update, leaving me with very limited knowledge of Minecraft 1.9+.

Servers - I used to play on servers with my IRL friends whenever I got home from school. That is how I got to acquired MCPVP's ip. I started out with it's Hunger Games / Survival Games, but then became bored and switched to other servers for a bit. After a short break from Minecraft in general, I then somehow joined MCPVP's CTF and became addicted in late 2013. From then, I stayed with the community up till now. I currently have over 1300 hours of gameplay from my combined stats on MCPVP and Brawl.

I don't always stay with vanilla Minecraft either. I enjoy exploring modpacks with friends, Pixelmon and Tekkit being my favorites.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I have no previous experience with moderating servers, however, I have been the Co-Leader / Representative of the CTF Team known as The Crusaders for nearly 2 years now. I have loads of experience when it comes to dealing with players and flame-inciting situations.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
I hope to bridge a gap between the community and moderators which has seemed to grow larger over the past year. Both sides are at fault, but I wish to help push more community driven updates and more events to widen the CTF community and improve the game. I have multiple ideas already, so I hope to gain moderator status to allow me more breathing room when it comes to publishing those ideas. I also have no intention of leaving the CTF Team Scene anytime soon, so Brawl will gain a long standing moderator. I also wish to help out as a CTF Team Match Referee.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
    No.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -
I've been autobanned on brawl once or twice, and the other bans on brawl would be troll bans. Other than that, I've only been banned once, but it was a very small faction server that my friend asked me to get on and ask the owner why my friend had been banned. As it turned out, it was a very selfish reason, so instead of listening to me, he decided to ban me.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
I would say my greatest strength is my patience. I often am involved with team issues or issues between members, so I have learned to be patient with others, and I almost never give in to hate / taunts through ingame or on the forums.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness would be my procrastination. Although I sometimes do plan out my assignments or work, I will often succumb to youtube or anime and wait until last minute to work on a project or homework.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -
Ingame - Although I may not be on every day now, my 17 days of playtime along with my old stats from MCPVP go above 1300 hours on CTF. I also may not be on CTF due to the fact that I am on another game, but all it takes is a simple PM and I can be online within minutes.

Forums - I have been stalking the forums since our old Discourse forums on MCPVP. This habit did not change when we switched to Brawl's forums. I may not be the most active poster, but I always keep tabs on any new topic or discussion within the CTF Forums, often combing through all notifications multiple times a day.

TS3 - This is where my activeness lacks most. Since most CTF related things happen through Skype / Discord, I saw no reason to download or use TS3. However, I have downloaded it since and am slowly becoming more and more familiar with TS3.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? -
    Capture the Flag.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -

    • Summer - Afternoon / Evening. Max 1-4 Hours.
    • School (Weekdays) - I am unsure of how active I will be during the school year, seeing as I will be a highschool Junior this year and am enrolled in 3 AP Classes. However, if I am available during the school year, it will most likely be during the evening. Max 1-2 hours.
    • School (Weekends) - Afternoon / Evening. Max 1-3 Hours.
I am available during mornings, however I prefer to sleep in. If I am needed in the mornings, however, I will wake up whenever I have to.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -
Hacking - I would first observe the player in question to determine if he/she is genuinely hacking. If I am positive about hacks, I will record the player and send a report in game and make a forums report with the footage for higher ranking staff. I would then proceed to kick the hacker. If I am unsure of whether the player in question is hacking or not, I would PM other mods online to scrutinize his/her behavior and come up with a consensus between us. I would still record the player in question and send the footage to other mods and report him/her through the forums.

Glitching - I would first warn the player that they are glitching and more abuse will result in a kick. Should they continue their behavior, I will kick them for a short amount of time. If they continue to glitch after their kick, I will continue to kick them for increasing amounts of time.

Spam / Flame / Advertising - I would issue warnings to all involved first, and should anyone continue afterwards, I would /prune the chat and issue mutes to the players involved. Should they continue after their mute, I would keep increasing their mute amounts.

Inappropriate Username - I would inform the player that their username is going against Brawl's rules, and I would then proceed to kick them.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
Spam / Flame / Advertising - I would first inform the players of their mistakes, and if they continue, I will edit / delete posts as I see fit.

Wrong Section - I would move the post to the right section.

Gravedig - I would inform the player that they should not gravedig, and then I would lock the post.

Resolved Question / Complaint - I would lock the post.

Duplicate Threads - I would lock the newer one and link it to the older one.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -
Inappropriate Name - I would politely ask the player to change their name.

Background Noise - I would inform the player of their background noise. If nothing changes, I would then change the player to Force Push to Talk.

Flaming / Advertising - I would ask the player/s in question to stop, and if no change is made, I would then kick the player/s from the server.

(As explained before, I am still new to TS3, and I am currently in the middle of familiarizing myself with its functions and usage.)

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -

    • Join the server/s containing the glitch
    • Inform all players affected by the glitch that any more usage of abuse of it will result in a kick or ban
    • Gather information on the glitch, whether it be from asking players questions or testing the glitch myself
    • Alert other mods online about the glitch
    • Should players still be abusing the glitch, I will warn them a second time and kick them if more abuse follows
    • Send a report through the forums / slack to Admins / Devs so they can fix the problem
    • Close the server/s affected by the glitch

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -
This is my first Brawl staff application.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? -
I have not submitted a previous application.

Do you have a working microphone? -
    Yes.

Are you able to record and upload videos? -
    Yes. (Through Bandicam)

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
I'm aware of a few of the commands like /prune, /mute, and /kick, but I do not have comprehensive knowledge on all of the staff commands.

Anything else we should know about you? -
I am a complete weeaboo, and I have also sacrificed my soul to osu! (just passed into 33K global rank yeet). If I'm not on CTF, you can probably find me developing RSI on osu! or binge watching yet another anime. I'm also involved with Marching Band, so I'm basically your all-around geek :]]

    Thanks for your consideration!

    Yes.

Seriously though, you're the first guy that comes to my mind when I think of who could make a good CTF mod and believe me we need them now more than ever. You're very active all around, from ingame to the forums, you have an incredibly extensive history in the team scene and you're on a great standing with most if not all of the community. I look forward to seeing that pink nametag pretty soon.

+1 - Easily support this application even without the active use of teamspeak because of how involved and knowledgeable you are in CTF

+1 from me for the points that Bob gave.
Also your font doesn't make my eyes bleed like the rest of the forums, so that helps <3
