Sheriff KOS Timer for New Update

    When sheriffs are killed now, they are put on a 2 minute wait to respawn. When does the 5 minute kos for the killer begin? Right when they kill the sheriff or when the sheriff respawns?
    This really needs to be answered.

    Wait how does the timer work? You are stuck in spectator mode for 2 minutes or you get deathbanned for 2m or something else?

    Well that needs to be fixed, you can spam hotbar slots and see what people are up to. Or you can fly to places where you shouldn't be and accept tpa requests. Kek

    I don't see how the first one's a problem, but the second one is an obvious bannable offense.

    Well, its a problem because dead sheriffs can spectate the battle and tell the alive sheriffs what the bandits are doing and where they are. Its like tracers in a way.

    Nah, that's not really a big problem and we need something to do when we wait to respawn.

    KOS begins automatically for other sheriffs, leaving 3 minutes for you when you respawn. Ghosting could be solved by causing sheriffs to automatically respawn at the HQ.

    What if there's only one sheriff? They'll have 3 minutes to be allowed to attack first. Also, ghosting?

    Ghosting is a dead/invisible player who can't attack, but is essentially scouting for their team.

    How are you so confused by easily understood concepts?
    So here's a break down.
    If I shoot you, I am KOS for 5 minutes. the five minutes continues to count down even while the sheriff is in spectator mode.
    I don't see why your so confused.

    A lone sheriff doesn't need someone ghosting for them. That's not how the game is intended to be played. HOWEVER if you do manage to get someone to ghost for you, then good for you nothing has changed.

    OK. I know what you guys mean by ghosting.
    This wasn't answered, "The lone sheriff only has 3 minutes to shoot first."

    From the handbook: "If someone attacks you and kills you, you may shoot on sight for up to 5 minutes."

    It doesn't mention anything about the respawn time not counting towards the 5 minutes.

    I think you missed the point, let me elaborate :stuck_out_tongue:

    The handbook says that when someone attacks you and kills you, you can shoot on sight for 5 minutes. This means after you die, you have 5 minutes where you are allowed to kill them. This time frame will include the respawn timer, and anything else between you dying and you returning to whoever killed you.

    So, to answer your original question:
    Right when they kill the sheriff.

    (And this is going off of the handbook, there might be one of many unspoken rules about this that aren't in the handbook)
