Giant lava wall laggs out the server

Who built that and how?!

 

The creator has been punished and we are working on removing the wall.

 

Uhm, You have an I5 Processor + F3 on and you still get 260FPS.
I wouldn't consider that laggy at all ;P

 

Lucky him to have such a great computer. It is laggy to most other players.

 

Tbh fps was fine, the server however had a Game Speed of 4% during the 2 hours I spent removing source blocks...

 

Why should the creator be punished... there is nothing in the rules about creating lava walls.

 

Agreed. It's only been ruled against once yaers ago: https://www.brawl.com/threads/17595/#post-263402. But I doubt anyone reads through every forum's post.

Intentionally lagging a server, be it by piston machines, redstone contraptions, or even lava walls, is against our server rules (even if it isn't stated in the server rules section of the forums). It basically falls under common sense. Creating something that intentionally lags the server, making the game experience unplayable or not enjoyable for others is not something Brawl will tolerate.

 

Maybe it wasn't to lag the server. When I'd done it I thought it posed as much lag on the server as a small portion the nether (which I don't believe is much). This person could've done it with the same intent as I; make a large wall and watch everyone's jaw hit the floor. It's the same concept as building the sky-islands. Just cheaper.

 

If it wasn't meant to lag the server or if it was the player's first offense then I'm sure the punishment will be a much smaller one. However, we cannot allow people to "not mean to lag the server" yet do it all the same. It's important to be unbiased here.

 

If there server can't cope with that there is something wrong. After entity stacking was added (a terrible addition - so many problems with the concept) the server was still laggy. The only reason the majority of the lag is gone is because everyone got bored and left.
