Story Evil for Hire

I was approached by a client forty five days ago. The encrypted email I received had one simple request. Kill 92 people on the same day, by 5 pm one month from now, and we will pay you 100 million US dollars. They provided a list of targets.

After cross indexing all the names I deducted my client was an investment company looking to get rid of their “crooked” competitor that was ripping off people with questionable practices. They were under multiple investigations by the Federal Communication Commission for a laundry list of white collar crimes.

By 11 am that morning I had accepted the mission.

Per my usual standard, I requested ½ the money up front. I provided them the account number and instructions where to deposit the 100 million dollars. My bank account in the Cayman Islands is untraceable, nontaxable, and completely off the books.

“How do you kill 92 people all over the world on the same day?” I mused.

After about forty five minutes of brainstorming I had 25 plans.

I received another request to sabotage a cell phone manufacturer located in Indonesia. The client wanted me to drive down business for Samsung Galaxy 7 phones that were about to hit the market.

Thinking about it for a few minutes I accepted that job too. I asked the client if I were to link explosions to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would that fulfill their requirements. They offered me an additional 25 million if I got the cellphone manufacturer banned from FAA flights across the United States.

I accepted that offer and called MR_OBSIDIAN….

MR_OBSIDIAN was injured in an oil drilling operation off the Gulf Coast of Mexico. After the accident, his skin was transformed into a sharp dark obsidian rock looking substance. He can lift 80 tons and is a first class power.

Unable to find legitimate work due to his deformity he came to me.

I consider him my muscle when I need it.

After working a number of jobs together I hired him on full time, including benefits for his family. He doesn’t venture off of my estate much anymore. The only time he really gets out is to check on his family. I set up a college fund for his kids, helped his wife get a job, and send a portion of his earnings to his family every month.

He’s become a good friend over the years and a trusted ally.

In my warehouse, I worked on devising a way to disrupt the manufacturing process. After a few hours, most of it spent blowing up cell phones I had come up with the formula to change the chemical composition in the battery production process.

Later that night, after jocking up, suiting up with my weapons & tech, and tracking down the battery manufacturer to Indonesia.

We flew my stealth jet to Indonesia.

After scanning the building with thermals, disabling security, and turning off power to the entire block we made our move. We landed at manufacturing facility.

MR_OBSIDIAN was the first out of the stealth jet after we landed.

He carried the chemicals I had prepared in advance in a large container. I would not have been able to carry the large container due to its size and movement of the chemicals as they sloshed around.

Picking the lock, we worked our way inside the facility. I had memorized the layout of the machines prior to landing after scanning it with one of my satellites.

We found the chemicals used to manufacture the batteries and I began pouring precise amounts into each of the large chemical containers. The chemical we introduced was very prone to exploding when overheated with a special high frequency signal. I should have patented the chemical. I developed nano-technology that allowed me to insert mini explosive robots into chemicals months ago. They were designed for implementation and use. In addition, I had also programmed them to disintegrate at a precise date. This would both cover our tracks and insure that no innocents were killed.

Within 4.56 minutes we were in and out of the building.

Simultaneously, Dark_Shadow was hacking Samsung’s server. He was able to send out 92 offers for the “New Galaxy 7” too all the people on the list. 2 days later, 92 phones shipped out to all the people on my clients list.

After verifying that each one was using them we waited until they were all alone. We watched 10 people on the list at a time. Before 5 pm we had detonated all 92 cell phones.

I decided to sleep in late the following day.

After waking up about noon, I strolled out to my drive way to retrieve my newspaper. In bold letters, the Wall Street Journal headline read, “Samsung Galaxy Cell Phones Explode 92 Dead!.”
