    I have never posted anything on the server before this, because I have never needed to do so.
    But.
    The lag on this sever is awful. It's straight up UNBEARABLE.

    I have died 5 times purely cause of the server lag. And I know its the server because I have a small friend group who plays on here, they all report the same symptoms as me.

    This is what usually happens:

    Me and __The_Raptor__ are off on a drug run, we are heading to the nearby rebel base, when BOOOM.
    We are ambushed. I try to fire my gun. NOTHING. I try to swing my sword. NOTHING. I get off my horse. WHEN SURPRISE. I'M a 100 BLOCKS AWAY!!! So I try to get to my friend. and only 2/10 of my swings hit our attacker. The gun takes 20 seconds to reload for some reason...

    And then we end up in prison.

    My friend kept dieing because she fell off a cliff because of the insane server lag.

    Is there a way to improve it from my end? Like use a specific version?

    Oh, and when i'm playing, all the other servers work fine. Just Wild West

    Is the server lagging? Or are you just pinging?

    As I said, the server is the one lagging. My connection is 5 bars on there so I assume it's not me.

    Next time this happens do these commands - /lag + /ping - Tell us what each of those commands says back.

    I checked now, it said Game speed: 96% and the ping was always between 30-60 milliseconds

    Your ping is quite good actually, and the server obviously isn't lagging. You may just be receiving random lag spikes.

    Uhh, so what is it then? Why are worlds not loading in right, why are 90% of my hits not registering? This happens to my friends who play on here too.

    It's happening consistently. I know what a random lag spike looks like.

    This is not a random lag spike.

    It's consistent lag spikes then. If you have low bandwidth on your internet, then if someone is browsing the Internet while you play, every time they load a site you will experience a lag spike. It happens to me too.

    how do i check my bandwidth then?

    And btw, how come all the other servers work fine except for Wild West?

    I normally play around this time, and have few lag issues. I can't get on now though, because I have to work this morning.

    Oh well, I guess there is no definitive answer to fix it. I guess I'll just quit Wild West until they fix it. :frowning:

    Well there is nothing we can do to fix it, like SoullessSpooky said, also don't leave Wild West! It's a great place :wink:

    Well how do I deal with the awful lag? Its pretty much a done deal that I will lose in every PvP battle.
    I don't want to leave but the lag is just so bad. It's pretty much unplayable.

    Wildwest is an extremely large custom made world. Therefore it takes a very long time to render in. On a horse it takes even longer because you have less time before you reach the end of your chunk.

    If your settings are turned up to high or your render distance is set to higher than 16 that could also cause a lot of lag. try turning those down in settings.

    Using highly pixelated resourcepacks can also cause lag. If you're using the generic wildwest texture pack then this probably isn't the issue, but try to stay away from resourcepacks that are higher than 64x64.

    If your /ping is good even during a lag spike, take a look at your connection between you and your router by going into command prompt (pressing the windows key and R at the same time And typing and into the run bar if you have a windows computer) type ipconfig and look for your default gateway. Then do ping <your default gateway numbers> -t

    If you are getting no delay then that's good and instead you should look at the connection between your router and the internet. Press ctrl and c at the same time to stop yourself from pinging your router. Then type in ping 8.8.8.8 -t and see what happens. If there is no delay then it isn't your internet connection. Press ctrl and c to stop the process and close out of command prompt.

    If none of these are the issue then I'm afraid I have no idea except that maybe you done have the amount of RAM partitioned to get it to work or you're using too much CPU power. I'd help you check but that's too in depth. I wish you luck. Try these out.

    I use optifine, I always have it at normal, i checked all of the other stuff and they are fine, no delays or packets lost. I have plenty of ram dedicated to minecraft, and I have a quad core so ya...

    None of these appear to be the problem

    Oh, you know about computers too? Thank god. Did you check your fps when you lag?

    Because it could be that your video graphics card is just none existent.

    the fps is always 40-60, never dips below 30

    When I first started playing minecraft I researched everything i possibly could about dedicated graphics card, integrated, cpu core. Now im the resident tech support in my family.
