I suggest we make nerfed versions of perks with downsides available to players through credits.
"Oh, but the server will lose money!"
    No. Study human psychology.
Giving someone something and limiting their usage of it is a far more effective persuasion technique than from barring them from it outright.

Player in server with nerfed perks: Wow, this perk is good! Imagine how much better I'd be with the full version!

Player in server without nerfed perks: Eh...I'm doing fine without perks. I don't really need them.

    So what do I suggest?
I don't really know the perks' exact values, but here's an example.

    Nerfed Juggernaut - LVL 25 - 2500 Credits
    - Take 90% damage (1/10 off)
    - Permanent Slowness I (plus whenever you ADS)

    Something like that.
It's a weaker effect, and it has a downside.

    Comments/thoughts?

I think just the nerf is fine. It doesn't need a downside.

But it makes it even more compelling to purchase...

As if these servers have money problems.

What about people who have all perks like me?

Ah. I agree with your idea, and it reminded me... I need to make a thread about Pro Perks! If you think about it, once the person buys the full version, they'll have wasted 2500 credits. So, I don't need to study human psychology. I just need to think ahead. (Your post describes how "nerfed perks" will make people possibly want to buy the full. Well, for someone who is wise in spending, they'll just go ahead and buy the full version.)

EDIT: Ok. So a new thread about Pro Perks isn't necessary. I'll lay it out here, and if you like it, Tac, you can reference my post or Copy and Paste. Basically, I'd like to keep your idea, but add on to it. So, here's how they'll work together:

So, let's say I want a nerfed perk. I buy it for 2500 creds or so. Then, my dog gives me his credit card and I buy the full version. Well, that's 2500 creds down the drain! What do I propose? Well, regardless of what order you purchase them, if you buy the full perk AND the nerfed one, they'll combine to make a PRO PERK, which is the perk, but more advanced. For example, regular Stopping Power will increase damage by a heart. So, Stopping Power Pro could have the effects of the normal, and in addition knock opponents back 3-4 blocks. That's my idea.

    Then this doesn't concern you.
This is for all the people who are on the fence about donating.
This may be the final thing they need to push them to donate.

Well, IMO, the nerfed perks are used more as a "trial" of the real perks to let people get a feel for them, and push them over the fence to donate.
I think making Pro Perks may get a bit on the OP side, unless it's extremely well balanced.

How would Pro Perks be OP? Maybe the price could be increased (admins and owners decide the price, really), but it'd bring something for people to buy with their credits. It is an actual thing from CoD, too!

IMO perks are enough power over people who don't pay.
Giving an even stronger one just widens that gap.

If we get pro perks, it'll just be like when people suggested having two perks at once.

More power to those who pay more.

True, true. Now I kind of wish that perks could be bought in-game, even though that'd bring the server down. :frowning:

I realize the need for people to donate.
But I think giving that much power because you paid will completely break the balance.

    Wait, what?
But you're on the opposing side of the argument, unless you magically changed sides without notifying me.

    Apparentky you are confused...

My opinion is that we should have weak perks bought by credits, and keep donator perks the same.

I was very confused also. But, lemme get this straight: Once you get the full version, you actually wasted 2500 creds on the nerfed version?

    Yes.
It's more to entice you to buy the full version.
    And a credit dump.
Most people have thousands of credits by 30.

    That's the only problem...

You can't just have 2500 credits wasted like that...
There are ways to waste all your excess credits very easily.

Also since SMG's will come out soon, that's another way to blow credits.

    Nevermind then.
    QQ.
    It's an unbalanced idea anyways.
