Chapter 4
The Southern Raiders

Long ago, Nomas had a quarrel between themselves, that resulted in division. The quarrel wasn't that of battle, but that of disagreement. A few (only about 10 families) left to go further South, because they disagreed with the King's decision regarding meeting up with the Begurthians. They wanted to join the two kingdoms' histories, to see what they could find out.

It turns out, that the King's grandson, Theo, one-hundred years later, thought it wise to mold the two histories. He did, and found some pretty important information regarding a very powerful item hidden in the alps.

Now, the families who left Nomas live beyond the forest, in the meadows further south. They were old farmers and hunters, who grew crops, and killed wild animals. The king, or leader of the outlaws was named Melting. He was an odd fellow, but a brilliant mastermind of battle tactics.

He heard from a few of his scouts who lived in Nomas, that the Nomasians were going into the alps to attempt to retrieve this mighty item, in the darkness of the mountains. Melting called together his trusty eight mercenaries together for a meeting.

"So bros..." he began, "I've heard this item's position we've all had speculation of has been identified."

Murmers filled the room. Skully, a grey haired geezer, with a dutiful complexion broke the awkward silence after a few seconds, "Let's go then! No time to lose, I mean they already could be there."

Marcel, an old suicidal hot-head, whole-heartily agreed with Skully. They even started walking out the door before Melting stopped them. "Um," a small voice came from the back of the room, "I think we should take a little more thought into this. I mean, these people we could be competing against could have legions at their command. We need to have a plan, and ultimately need to be stealth and quick."

The room filled with clapping. This was a trolly bunch, who didn't really take things seriously, so when something was taken seriously, they had fun with it.

The man who quietly mumbled those words, was named rock. He was probably the most level-headed of the bunch, although he has his moments.

Evil, the ripped body builder and billionaire who specialized in his fancy home-made bad-ass equipment, also spoke, in agreement with rock, "I say we go within the next few hours. I'll have our pack of wolves ready to carry us to the base camp, where we'll walk in the rest of the way."

The twins, Blamo and Random, both wanted to leave then, making a plan while they rode to battle. They were experienced in battle, and when another opportunity to rek young inexperienced warriors came up, they were like little children at Christmas. They both specialized in rocket launcher tactics, both duel-wielding LAWs.

While Melting, patiently waiting for everyone's opinions, Chlam was cleaning his rifle, while eating a cow jerky sandwich. "Wait for me to clean this, then we can go. Ready my wolf."

Ryan, who had not yet spoken, was pondering deeply by the crackling fire in the back of the room. He was the youngest of the group, and was rarely silent. When he was, people knew something was up.

Melting looked at him. Ryan peered back, almost like he was looking through him. "Ryan?" Melting began.

"Oh, sorry. I was just calculating how long we'd be gone. I need to line out my pig caretakers. brb." He walked out of the room, and with out even turning around he yelled, "I'll be ready in 5!"

The room fell silent. Evil was the first to get up. "I'll have the pack outside in three minutes."

Melting gave a last message, "Guys, buckle up."
