Well its official. The American stereotype that we are stupid is true. California, however, is a very prosperous state being the home to the worlds biggest companies and the 6th laregest economy in the world. We pay the most taxes, pay for poorer states healthcare(something I think is stupid), pay for their retirement(also stupid). We are repayed with no gratitude for us paying for everyone else's fast food and heart disease bills but instead a reality star who spent his 70 years on earth being a rich scumbag who inherited his fathers 300 million dollar business in the 80s and then calls himself self-made, scammed people for free work, left thousands of people who worked for his companies for years without pensions, kicked out black people from his buildings, and that's just the top of the list. It's almost like california is forced to babysit hellish children and then get payed nothing(like how trump doesn't pay his workers). If you live in California, please vote calexit on the 2018 ballot.

Remember, California is not even comparable to the other 49 states, we compete with nations and countries in terms of power.

California has its own culture, separate from the rest of US.

California has a population larger than Poland.

California is more economically powerful than France.

California is almost 1/8 of USA's total economy while being 1/50 of its states.

California has the potential to be a excellent country by itself if unbounded by a government that clearly is a failure.

    VOTE CALEXIT 2018!

Well it would be bad for the rest of the union when you guys have to start paying more taxes and lose every big company outside of finance. It would be amazing for California, however.

Please leave, nobody likes California anyways. It's kind of the epicenter of trigger warnings and safe spaces.

    Love; a Canadian.

The problem comes along whe 'be whatever you want to be' becomes 'you can't do what you're doing because I am offended', which is incredibly prevalent in California. U C Berkeley was one of the first Universities to implement the 'trigger warnings' and 'safe spaces ' bs on their campus, which is what fully grown adults can use to essentially stick their fingers in their ears and go 'lalalala'.

There is no reason adult students on a university campus should have the university coddling them like whining children, and California pioneered this. It is the epicenter of this ****.

    Gladly.

Because somehow you seem to think that a Canadian sharing an opinion to some Canadians in Canada will help your cause, or..?

The problem with that is when people are allowed to be whatever they want to be they become idiots.

I mean, California isn't gonna leave. That'd be a very stupid thing to do at the moment. We're already 9 trillion dollars on debt, so don't screw us over anymore please.

If New York were to secede, its army, the New York City Police Department, would be the twentieth-best-funded army in the world, just behind Greece and just ahead of North Korea. Its GDP, $413.9 billion, would be the seventeenth largest, just behind the Russian Federation and just ahead of Switzerland. With more than 8 million residents, it would be more populous than Ireland, Switzerland, or New Zealand; roughly half the countries in the Middle East (including Israel); most of the former republics of the Soviet Union; and all the Scandinavian countries besides Sweden...

    Do what you want... gl

But if you get out of USA you will probably have to take 1/50 of the debt with you. (And btw every country got a big ass debt and also about same amount of money borrowed to another country so it's not as much as it sounds like lol). Well so it shouldnt be a problem anyways

You're right; California can pay that debt easily, no problem. The financial issues of California leaving the Union is on the rest of the Union, California will benefit. 1/50 of the national debt is only about 40 billion dollars which Apple alone can pay and still be the company with the most cash in the world.

California only owes the federal government 8.8 billion dollars which can be paid for very easily.

Oh my God. Do you ever do any research?

If you go by just federal debt per person, California has to pay 2.36 x 10^12 in usd.

That's 2.36 trillion. Apple could put all of their money into paying off the federal debt per person to the point of bankruptcy... 4 times.
I mean, that's almost as much as California's total GDP.

If you're more generous and decide to go with the stupid af 1/50 option even though California houses more people than any other state, that's still an outrageous 397 billion dollars.

And all of this is just using federal debt. If you decided to use the total U.S government debt as of 2017, which is 23.28 trillion dollars, all of those numbers skyrocket.

Where in God's name did you get 40 billion? I'm guessing the same place you seem to get everything else you say.

Ops i i meant 400 billion. Anyway, whatever financial burdens of leaving the union has, California can easily pay.

The state only owes the federal reserve 8.8 billion dollars
