Personal Drug Farms

    So I thought I would create a separate thread so I could expand on the idea of drug farms for personal use. So, here we have it. (CREDIT TO @Hazelrino FOR THE ORIGINAL IDEA)


    1- Rebel Home Improvement NPCs
    Drug seeds could be purchased with an illegal home improvement NPC. This home improvement NPC would be located in rebel bases and would sell the drug seed corresponding to the base the NPC is located. So a tobacco NPC would sell a tobacco drug seed. A poppy NPC would sell a poppy drug seed, etc. The prices would also correspond with the amount the processed drug is worth. The wildgrass seed costing the most and tobacco costing the least. Also, the NPC could offer more drug rooms that would stack. The video will be provided below:


    2- Expansion on how exactly you could customize drug rooms

    Drug seeds could be placed in the basements of homes. Each home in each town would have to be given basement stairs that lead to a basement. All basements size would correspond with the price of the house. (Also, a house that has not purchased any drug farms would still have a basement, it would just be empty and you would not be able to place any chests.) The Room would have wood walls and dirt floors. Picture below:


    3- How seeds would work
    *The official Wild West texture pack might have to be tweaked for this to work* A drug seed would have 4 stages. Just planted->sprouting->half-grown->fully grown. Once fully grown you could harvest like a regular drug plant. There should also be a feature where a drug you have grown has a chance of giving you a seed. As well as Drug plants in a regular field. (Much smaller than the chance of a grown plant) A high harvesting skill would increase the chances of a seed. For example, If you were a regular player with a level 1 harvesting skill you would have very small chance of getting a seed from your planted drug plant and would have an extremely small chance from a field drug plant. In simple form: your rank and harvesting skill would influence the chance of obtaining a seed for both a planted drug plant and a regular field drug plant.

    4- How Sheriffs would punish players
    Sheriffs that visibly see a player underground will be able to enter the house and walk downstairs. IF A SHERIFF TRIED TO INSPECT ANY OTHER PART OF THE HOUSE IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED ABUSE If a sheriff catches you in your harvest room not only would you be ticketed but the room you were caught in would lose all planted seeds in the room, meaning it would be an empty room. Though this seems very harsh, remember, you have your own harvester in your own home.

    5-(POTENTIAL IDEA) How you could harvest/how seeds would grow
    When harvesting your drugs I believe to make harvesting not so over-powered you would receive less unprocessed drugs than harvesting from field drugs. Let’s say you were an MVP and you get an average of 3 drugs per harvest. You would get -1 drug. (an example, not suggesting) So an MVP would receive 2 drugs from a planted drug plant. Also, the plant would either not regrow at all or have a cap on its regrowth. For example, the drug could only regrow twice and then you would have to replenish the drug with a new seed.
    For seeds, the growth time would depend on the drug, just like field drug plants. Tobacco would grow the quickest and Wildgrass would grow the slowest.

    6- What work would have to be done
    Retexturing the stages of a carrot, potato, nether wart (potentially), etc.
    Builders would have to implement a basement and stairs into every house.
    A new NPC would need to be created and put into each base.
    A way to buy stacked drug rooms and a way to have them automatically placed under another drug room when bought.
    Prices of seeds and percentages for the chances of obtaining a seed from both a planted drug and a field drug.
    Most likely some testing/experimental stage of sorts so they can fix bugs.
    Editing the growth times for plants.

    I like the idea, but a lot of coding, building and retexturing would need to happen.

    I just think that the area under a house is so minimal that the gain from doing all this, rather than just going to the field is next to nothing.

    You've got to buy seeds
    Buy Drug farms
    Plant Seeds
    Wait for them to grow while also having the risk of being arrested
    Harvest
    Then travel to a base and process

    Thats 6 steps, and using more money than:

    Go to field - Harvest
    Go to rebel base - Process

    If there was something that gave a good benefit to growing your own then I think it could be good.

    Why are you not sure about this line?

    Good point, you are correct. The only benefit is really not having to travel and go directly to the base, and not having to wait for a cleared drug field to regrow.

    Because a sheriff should be able to inspect any drug-house or stuff like that that includes drugs.

    So a sheriff would be allowed to look through yours houses chests and belongings? I am not critiquing the idea, it's just that's a little too much power.
