Code Name: Soulless

Background: 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), elite special operations unit. Trained in hostage rescue, counterterrorism, reconnaissance, and direct action.

As an active operator John Walker participated in the most highly complex and dangerous missions in the US military. His missions were classified and took place all over the world.

While on in mission outside of Fallujah his armored convey was destroyed…and he died.

Technically, he died that is…

When he awoke from surgery in his home state of Las Vegas, his arms and legs had been destroyed by the IED that blew up his armored personnel carrier. He had been in a coma for 3 months.

Returning back to the United States as a disabled veteran was psychologically damaging. He wasn’t ready for the transition from elite warrior to wheelchair bound quadriplegic.

In the months that followed his return stateside he suffered numerous challenges. His blonde wife left him for another man. While never close to his family they became less scarce after he came home with his arms and legs amputated. The bank foreclosed on his house, it couldn’t get much worse.

John’s outlook was bleak.

Suffering from PTSD, guilt for surviving when his fellow soldiers died, and the loss of his support system he decided to end his life.

He had decided that he was going to drive his wheelchair to the bank that was foreclosing on his house and crash himself in the traffic in front of the bank. He was so downtrodden with grief and at the lowest point in his life that this made sense to him.

Taking three deep breaths he positioned himself to drive his wheel chair into traffic.

Before he could initiate his plan he heard a large BOOM! Explosions, fireworks, and every cell phone, radio, device and broadcast the same message. “Say ello to my little friend”. He saw an obviously very drunk man in tactical body armor firing his railgun at the bank.

Evil was drunk and destroying downtown Las Vegas.

John noticed that the armor that Evil was wearing enhanced his arms and legs. He wondered if a similar process could be used to create new arms and legs for himself.

While Evil was blowing up building, launching flares, and using his mini gun to chew up SWAT team vehicles and police cars John quietly rolled up behind him in his wheelchair.

John cleared his voice and shouted at the Evil Overlord. “Hey asshole”. Evil turned around. John was only about 10 feet from him. Evil cocked his head and looked at John. John looked him in the eye and asked him if his technology could help a wounded veteran.

The police helicopter circling around overhead was trying to identify the man in the wheel chair talking to the Evil Overlord.

Evil swung his large pulse cannon around and shot the helicopter out of the sky. It blew up and crashed into the Trump Casino before blowing up again.

John had never seen a Super Villain before. Evil stood 6’2, was heavily armed and wearing black tactical armor.

Evil fixed his gaze on John’s missing limbs giving him the once over. He spoke to John in a very deliberate stone cold voice. “How bad would you like to walk again?” John was stunned, he replied “very much so” Evil continued “make your way to Vail, Colorado for Christmas, I’d like to help that happen."

6 months later John made his way to Vail, Colorado…..

12 months later he had been enhanced with mechanical arms and legs. They were remotely operated by a neural-net processing system linked to his brain. The cybernetic link to his brain granted him superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes and a computer augmented brain.

Evil aka Max turned out to be one of the nicest people he had ever met.

A billionaire, with genius level intellect and his own company. The man ran a tight ship. In his free time, he was Mr Evil Overlord, criminal mastermind and Super Villain.

John had gotten to know Max pretty well. The highly educated, fitness freak, scientist developed military level limbs. The cost was extremely expensive and John had worked out a deal with Max that he would pay them off by working for him. Max had accepted John’s offer. As it turned out Max was also the leader of a professional group of Super Villains.

Max also set up John with a living arrangement on his estate. While going through rehab, Max had hired John a rehabilitation specialist. She was from Brazil and her name was Ava Aguilar. John and Ava fell in love. Ava’s large family opened their arms and their hearts to John and took him in as one of their own. The two fell deeply in love…and he was more happy than he had ever been in his whole life.


And then the Zombie Apocalypse happened after Trump became POTUS.........
