CTF Knockback?

Question: Alright so when I was playing on CTF I was a Ninja and an archer was standing right next to the edge of the void. So seeing a humorous ending for this archer I quickly went invisible and snuck up on the unsuspecting target. As soon as I was close enough I stopped using red stone and switched to my sword. With a feral grin I smacked him 3 times in quick succession... However much to my surprise and dismay he did not go plummeting to his death, instead I ended up smacking him maybe half way off the block. Of course me having the element of surprise finished him off. The next time I saw this opportunity I did the exact same thing no sprint or anything, yet I used my fist. To my surprise he went flying off the block to his doom! So I was like "D**n this is one super powered fist, I'm like f**cking IronFist or something." So I tested my theory and I was proved correct, the fist does 2-3 times the amount of knock-back as a sword. So my question was Did Brawl mess with the knock-back of your sword, or do I just have the Fist Of Legend? Granted it doesn't really matter, but I did just wanna check if I was right.
