I watched this video recently and I was inspired to make an idea regarding Build. (Please note I am only discussing an idea inspired from that map, not the content)

My idea is that people can leave "notes". These can be represented by some sort of floating icon. When someone walks up to the note, they can see the message that the player left above the icon. Any player can leave a "note" by typing "/note [enter message here]". Only the creator of the note and anyone that has permission on that map can see the note. Manager+'s can remove notes by right clicking them. They can also toggle their visibility in the /options menu.

I think this would be a great addition to Build since there are many CTF maps that I would like to review yet it is too tedious to make a full review of the map with screenshots and such. This could also be a great tool when collaborating with others or just leaving a compliment of how amazing a build is.

Brilliant idea in my opinion! My brother is a Builder on a popular Role-Play server and their build team use a similar thing like this and it really does seem to be beneficial!

However, the only thing I would change is that I would keep it strictly to chat and not have actual "floating icons" being placed around the map! I would use this sort of system:
    • /note [Message] - This allows a visiting player to comment on the build and will leave a short saved message for a Manager+ to read and review. If this is the first note left on the plot then it will be saved as "#1", then the next note is saved as " #2" etc.
    • /checknotes - This is a command used by Manager+ in which all the notes left on the build can be viewed in the following format:
#1 [GreenPeas] - Great build dude! Really like the monkey!
#2 [Canoodle] - Really not a fan of this build, sorry! :frowning:
    #3 [Chickenputty] - Wow you're amazing! Want a job
    ?
    • The manager+ player can now go through the notes left on the plot and either use:
    • /note read [number] - This would remove a note from the list after a Manager+ has read it
    • /note readall - This would remove all notes from the list
Just an idea, saves blocks and stuff being placed all over people's plots! Really cool idea though!

Sounds like a great idea. I could use it as reminders to build/add something to my map.

Would be a lot of fun to see, I think. Trouble is, I don't think many people would use it - most maps will only be seen when a player tps to another player on that map, at which point they can just talk in chat. And for those submitted to the forums they could just use the thread.

Interesting idea though, keep em coming!
